Yesterday after satay TT on my way home I was stopping for a red light at Kajang town. In front of me was a MyVi Extreme 3 guys inside...LEDs, sticker....HE was revving a bit his car (can hear is exhaust note since I wind down half window) Then came 2 police superbike rider stop beside me..they were chatting then the MyVi didn't know got police....He rev rev his car...he want to time the traffic light and do launch.....

manatau.....he miss calculate and did an early launch basically running the red light la....the 2 police chase kao him...That poor MyVi not even got chance to shift into 2nd gear already kena potong by the police bike.....Hahahahaha...that time I really ROFLMAO.....I pass by that car and gave him a honk.... laugh.gif  laugh.gif

Then I reach semenyih area fuhh...kena tiong by Alza and MyVi....mau main my back side.....So I just go faster it was on trunk road.....that driver try to follow my speed at those trunk roads which is quite dark and winding when almost reaching the Nilai interchange....the road was a mix of dry and wet...after he cannot catch up with me after few corners I also slow down because don't want play with him jor.....then he not happy come tail me so I gib him signal let him overtake he overtake already then brake infront of me (by this time the Alza was not chasing anymore)

The MyVi play brake with me and he drive slow so I try overtake him again but he don't let me overtake him by going faster so I just give him pressure from back....I don't know how much we were going that time because there was no other cars other than me and him....Then after we pass the tuanku jaafar college there I know got a corner if entry speed too fast he sure fly over to the small slope hill already....I see he take corner like orang gila all the line so messy can tell he not familiar with the road....when approaching that said corner I slow down because can tell he's going in too fast, he pull away from me very fast as I brake to slow down he still give me the "loser" sign niama....then not long I hear Eeeeeeeee.......boom boom....I literally saw his MyVi understeer at the corner then fly straight over the small ditch and bang onto the small slope.....I didn't went down to help the driver I just drove slowly pass the scene and go home....just hope he's ok....Sigh....these drivers really....don't know how to say....consider got balls or got no brain....for me if not familiar with road I won't go so 7 fast even if kena kacau just let it be some more in rural area getting help pass 1am is very difficult....

David, the thing is the crack was not at the welding area...weird huh....
*
Not weird. The amount of pressure in exhaust manifold are tremendous. Imagine the exhaust flow able to power up turbo chargers exhaust housing fin up to 25krpm(usually between 3~5 times of engine revving speed). If the crack does not happen on the welding seems, simply means the steel material has very little tensile strength. Like v12kompressor mentioned, the metal couldn't stand the extreme heat expand cold compress that causes the crack. If according to what I picture in mind, the bent area something like below. I'm not saying it crack transversely or longitudinal, as long as there's a crack, it SHOULD happen at the bent area.

user posted image

Cracks usually has to do with metal fatigue. Unconditional or slight sliced even slight uneven surface on the metal surface will result in disastrous fatigue explosion under high pressure. Anyway, I do use asbestos fibre wrap my ke20's exhaust manifold, but the manifold itself is a 1.8mm thickness hot rolled steel iron pips. It's slightly heavier but it has no problem at all. The middle join is the headache part, because from the midbox onwards are all stainless steel. The head transition between black iron pips with stainless steel are totally different. It oftenly bust my bolts and nuts.

Full carbon fibre tank is exotic, only used by supercars or performance cars. Not for me or you.

Hey guys, I've just bought a SAGA SV and I've been driving it for a week. Here's the issue (I think)

It's a manual by the way. Every time I rev up to 2k and above in 2nd or 3rd gear, I can feel some vibration from the accelerator pedal, the clutch pedal, the gear knob and also a bit on the steering wheel. the vibration goes away after 3k or more and can only be felt mostly on the 3rd gear every time i accelerate.

At first i thought it was normal cause I was running in the engine, but I've just clocked 1000km and went for the first service.

It still vibrates/minor shaking. I've went back to the SC to check and the mechanic there told me it was normal and that all proton cars are like that, even auto.

I'm just wondering if it is really normal for a Saga SV or any other manual proton cars.

Thanks!

First of all, vibration on engine causes resonating effect inside cabin is very normal no doubt. However, different people different perception. Your kind of vibration does not mean it will trigger my nerve(or the super thick elephant skin SC people). Hence, unless you compare to another GaGa, and indeed your car is much more vibration than others, it's highly possibly your engine mounting came stock broken. Please make warranty claim immediately or otherwise after several thousand KM away you're getting harder to claim because this is a wear & tear item.
