any comment on sniper build?

Start - Tango & Healing slave

Claymore - Shadow Amulet [Shadow Blade]

Boots of speed

Crystalys

[Life steal here if required]

Power Thread

Mjollnir

Played 2 lost 2 as team but feed much lesser [7-2 and 8-1 in 2 respective games]

Start with some gg branches or slippers of agility maybe?

I recommend starting with Tango, Salve, 2 slippers of agility, 2 branches or 1 slippers of agility and 4 branches(save up some gold for your future item).

Also get Boots of Speed before Shadow Blade please. Just almost always get Boots of Speed before any other item.

Consider getting either Drums of Endurance, Desolator or Manta Style. Manta Style would be helpful in dispelling dust and track, which would allow your Shadow Blade to be more effective in escaping. Desolator really increases your damage output to both towers and heroes while Drums would give you more movement speed, attack speed and overall stats improving survivability for yourself and benefit your team as well.

As you know by getting Desolator it means to not get lifesteal. Upgrading your Crystalys into Daedalus after an item like Desolator would be a good idea although you're really gonna be nothing but a glass cannon if you build this, consider building survivability items.

If you feel like you have too much gold, never hesitate to get a butterfly on Sniper. There are other items like an Eye of Skadi or Linkens to consider, very situational though.

Kill/Deaths doesn't prove anything, to me at least.

*BKB of course, if enemy has heavy lockdown spells

Euls would be a little weird on Sniper, since he doesn't benefit too greatly from the mana regen it provides. Just my opinion though since it can be useful if you're the one getting initiated on in a teamfight it could be really bad for you and that would really help you survive and maybe even turn the tables around.

Dagger Sniper isn't all that weird but if you're more towards using it as an escape item rather than a counter-initiating item or follow up, a Force staff would work just as well and might even save a teammate.

If pushing towers down are your main concern, it's just a preference but I would always get Desolator before Manta. The difference in damage the tower takes is pretty huge and since Sniper is a ranged hero, his illusions from Manta don't do as much damage like an Anti Mage does.

I have a sudden thought of playing a carry omni lol, dps type.
Yes I know most of you will say omni is a support and never ever be a carry blah blah blah
But hey, we improve by exploring the impossible aite?
So far I only thought of getting a blink dag for his skill built
Blink in, 1st skill, 2nd skill and start whacking! rclxm9.gif
Any sifus would like to add in?
Much appreciated smile.gif

Omni can be a semi carry, but very conditionally and this means you'd rather let Omni have the solo mid lane. He's not that bad and he works quite well with a bottle.

Phase boots for a dps omni is almost a must, you want to abuse his degen aura and pure damage heal as much as you can.

Blink is not always necessary if you want to play a dps omni, his repel and degen aura combined with decent movement speed helps him to initiate just as well without blink. This means you don't have to spend 2150 gold on something that only allows you to blink with no other bonuses.

Get items like Shadow Blade, Armlet, Assault Cuirass, etc. Basically items that work for any other str carry would work on him. Also like I said, his degen aura is a really great slow that lasts as long as you're within radius so you want to abuse it as much as possible hence I recommend getting items that boost movement speed as well. If you plan to get Mask of Madness just remember that repel actually removes the buff Mask of Madness gives(I forgot if you can activate it after casting it or not).

This is just my theory but I think Euls would actually be pretty great on Omni but don't take my word for it since I haven't tested it out. It helps you set up for your initial first skill damage, gives you mana regen, and a constant boost in movement speed. Then again I guess this item works even if you're not a dps omniknight. Hm... I think I'm gonna try this the next time I play Omni, it actually sounds great on him.

Omni is strong lol, but his only downfall is that he's a melee support and not the one of the best of a carry.

A repel is just an alternative to bkb, not to replace it completely.

What you want to do as Omni btw is to cast Repel first then only cast Guardian Angel. If you cast Repel after Guardian Angel, it removes Guardian Angel. Repel removes a lot of existing buffs/debuffs before applying magic immunity.

used omni as semi carry, btm lane with venge.
in the end lost.
mid let farm too much dy :/
NP farm too slow :/

one thing im curious, if i repel myself, will death prophet's ulti apply dmg on me?

NP didn't farm too slow, he just fed too much. DP's ulti is physical so yes, Guardian Angel blocks it though.

means imba ulti ==
*
Not at all, the radius to be affected by omni's ult when he activates it is only 500, this means that your entire team has to be really nearby each other. Which means they're easy target for Black Hole, Reverse Polarity, Vacuum+Wall combo, Warlock's rock, and other crowd control ults.

Not to mention that it doesn't work on buildings until you actually get an Aghanims Scepter which is 4.2k and normally support Omnis can't farm that much, if you're a dps Omni you'd rather focus on something else anyway.

Both his Repel and Guardian Angel can be purged by the small satyr's skill and diffusal blade, meaning Chen, Enchantress, Doom or any hero that normally gets diffusal blade or helm of the dominator will be able to remove his Repel or Guardian Angel by purging it.

There's nothing imba about his repel as all btw, try picking a Naga Siren so that whenever Omni uses repel on someone, you pop your song and the only one that can move around and be attacked would be the guy that's repelled. 5 man gangbang him while the rest of his team is asleep. By the time the song ends it would really screw them up if the one they repelled was their carry or something. A carry cant do a 1v5 fight no matter how farmed he is, considering you guys have a more proper lineup and some teamwork. Also some Naga players do like to get diffusal blade on her because it's honestly not a bad item on her at all.

Stop complaining anything is imba, there are some heroes that have great skills and work well in a lot of different type of hero composition lineups. Perhaps you should start actually picking them and using them rather than always playing heroes that have mostly single target dps like cancer lancer or Antifun.

im not a carry. pl and am would not be my type. just had a sudden thought of playing omni as carry cause i love that hero and played it as a support most of the time. wanna explore other ways.

i agree with you on the bolded part. me and my friends play alot of hero combos.

sorry I mistook your statement because you quoted something about Omni.

Warlock and Tidehunter for big AOE, it's hard to mess up on these two heroes. Death Prophet is decently easy as well.

I see try before tide and warlock okay lah...but I scared if enemy got rubic how ah?  hmm.gif BKB?

Btw which big aoe(Enig,Mag,Tide, warlock) can go through BKB?
*
Spell steal works through magic immune, bkb is useless, just make sure you shift-queue your skills I guess or blow up rubick as one of the priority targets/make sure he gets caught up in your aoe and don't give him a chance to use the spell he steals, he's relatively squishy.

Enigma and Magnus(stun only)

Spend all money on wards and got no item = noob

Died alot during teamfights = noob.

what, boots first? you should always go gloves of haste + tango/2 clarity as CM. You jungle for like 8 minutes, finish your midas then buy whatever you want.

kidding, don't do it, it's terrible. I did it once though and this is the result, CM str0nk farm(I properly warded okay, otherwise I'd have more than just those 3 items)

I just went for another solo queue and randomed a bane. I was the solo support on my team and jeebus christ, this bloodseeker on the enemy team really hated me for some reason.

Every single engagement he would ravage me, silence me, then force staff me. It was like his sole purpose in the game was to just fk me up. I think silence alone is enough to keep me out of the engagement though, so basically he just wasted his ult and force staff on someone who's already useless when silenced.

That aside when people keep asking for couriers, wards and dewards I really hope they know that there's only one support in the game and I'm not taking any last hits in lane and placing wards and stuff really doesn't help me boost my gpm. Not that I couldn't afford it, but it delayed my mek for 10+ minutes.

It always gives you something to laugh at though later. Like this Magnus on my team that kept spamming skewer into enemy chronosphere when he could clearly RP the void from outside it. I would rage, but I was too busy laughing since we were stomping them.

I miss farming and not looking like a burden to my entire team with that disgustingly low level at the end.

Midas and Dagon

In all seriousness though, it depends on your playstyle. Shadow blade's one of em, some rush Maelstrom to farm faster, and Battlefury for some.

i dont think need midas, maelstorm better in war since hit faster and got more damage than midas...

some does include basher too sometimes.

also got some rare case, radiance.
*
I was joking about the midas lol. I think Shadow Blade alone is enough until you get 3 items. The 150 bonus damage you deal from breaking invi also helps you kill much faster.

QUOTE(xhakox @ Sep 26 2013, 10:10 PM)
For me basher is a must, because without it I just can't kill anyone. They could escape easily. Usually I go midas first, boots, shadow blade, but then this part I got really confuse which to get first.
*
I like getting a Maelstrom then Assault Cuirass after Shadow Blade and before basher since Alchemist lacks a lot in armor and the stun from unstable concoction(providing you max this skill first) is enough to make a lot kills happen. I'm still pretty sketchy about going midas first, I tried it but I don't think Alchemist needs it if you plan to max Greevil's Greed first

VS play style is self sacrifice with support roles, but self sacrifice means, your impact must at least cost opposite 3 heroes.

In teamplay try go for aura stacking. Drum + Vladmir if there is melee carry in team.

If pub? forget it, you will feed anyway.

and force staff, so that you can actually get the hell out of there if you ever swap anyone

Yes she is warder as she no need strong items to be imba.

try practice trilane + double stack NC pull for exp and lvling, dual lane no longer works effectively for VS as VS's range is a lot shorter than most INT caster.

Arcane boots its a waste of gold on excess mana since you die way faster you spend your mana(during the time you getting arcane boots and meka), strictly speaking, after wands and boots, you should get at least a plane walker to avoid death by spell. With your lvl 4 aura, simply by surviving alone with a few simple stun will make a huge difference and lead your team to victory. Check all your lost matches with VS, see your team line up.

VS most likely will feed on pubs with 1-2 teammates cause VS is a type who amplify and yet cant do shit alone.

She can stun, but short range ==> a lot of INT out range her

Her damage pain but not much useful cause short attack range + slow ASPD

But she got 1 of the most imba aura in this game and she is one of the heroes who having highest STR growth in game(imagine 1.4k hp without any STR item in lvl 10-11 as AGI version of Ogre Magi)

Her mana issue can be solved by clarity pots

Heroes to combo: Undying, Leoric, rubbick, Beastmaster(arguebly best aura combo to boost up Semi-carry early game, both heroes got decent initiate spell and disable), Lone druid

When her leveling is ok, her ulti will shines after lvl 2. Ever see an enemy carry being swapped and ganked thus lead to victory?

Keyword here: Aura stacking and surviving. Forcestaff is like 2nd core but not a must. Drum + meka are core items.

Something to note: Medallion of Courage + Howl + aura is imba single target killer. MoC can combo with Urn of Shadow for decent regen and assist.
*
You're pretty much talking in situations where your team has great communication, almost what you'd never find if unless you 5 man stack. I don't know how you expect a support to keep up in levels with your other teammates if you expect them to constantly be around the map warding unless they can continuously pull off a chain of successful ganks on every lane constantly and let's be honest here, how often will it be successful unless the enemy has no map awareness anyway. I don't know how you got 1.4k hp without any STR item at lvl10/11 data, because I just went in game to test this out and she only has 929 hp at lvl10. She doesn't get 1.4k hp based on pure level up until lvl20(this number's a bit off because you would definitely get stat levels at lvl15, 17 and 18 which would give you the 1.4k hp). Even dota wiki says she only has 1.2k hp at lvl16. Unless of course, you were referring to EHP all this while without considering the fact enemy might have heroes that have -armor or magic resistance skills.

You'll also notice sooner or later the 110/120/130/140 mana cost for her stun can't be so easily covered with by mere clarities(100 mana in 30 seconds for a skill that can be used every 10 seconds) and her low int growth meaning she can't gank as often to constantly pull ganks off which brings us back to another question, how do you expect her to keep up in levels? You also expect her to carry a mek which means she would have even more mana problems.

I'm sorry but I really cannot completely agree with the tips you're giving out here even if some of them are useful.

Why do I get matches against people that don't want to focus the carries but focus supports first in teamfights? even if they already have bkbs and supports can't do much damage to them. Or is this the new meta nowadays?
