this brings up my question. since Z ultra have this physical reset button, does the power+vol up button still work as a reset in ZU?

ooo... that means sony remove the power+vol up combination for phones that comes with physical reset button

I won't be surprised with the rumours. Like I said before Sony tends to release 2 flagship in a year. So this z2 will most probably be set for release in 1st had of 2014. And by the time z2 release rumors of z3 will surface for 2nd half of 2014

it's always worth waiting for newer phone, if u r in no hurry of course. but not to forget z2 will most probably be competing with next years S5 and HTC ??? flagship model. u'll again be spoiled with lots of choices. and this whole thing will be a repeating cycle each year.

just choose the best/perfect phone that u think suits u the best

so far those review said the battery is not so good, but still better than XZ.

btw, i think XZ1 will have the battery stamina mode, which really extend the battery life

in some ways, i agree with u

IOS is the OS for iphone only. no other manufacturer can use it. So, Apple can design it all the way it wants it to be. and thus many functions and feature are locked, or you have to use the way it is... this was, Apple can sort of ensure the stability of the IOS, cos everything is pre-fixed in IOS. User only need to switch on their Iphone, minimal settings, and that's it. user have to follow the way IOS was designed. i don't think u can even add any shortcuts onto the desktop/homescreen. thus, cstomization on IOS will be, of course limited when compared to Android.

Android works diff from IOS. it's meant to be open to all manufacturer, offering more customization. that's y every manufacturer have their own skin over android. by giving more customization, stability are in sometimes sacrificed and require more processing power to run it smoothly.

so, it's all about what user want of their phone. straightforward with minimum customization/settings? or customization power of your own device?

yup. agreed. that's y i still waiting for other in depth review of the battery life

stamina mode... yeah, i think only pro long your stand by time. but in real life usage, there will be time when u use the phone (screen on) and there will be time when ur phone is in stand by mode. so, more or less , i think it still help... depending on individual usage of course. light user will definitely felt the effect of stamina mode and said it's awesome. heavy user will say it's crap and does not help at all.

i tot XZ1 and G2 using the same processor??? what's with the huge diff in all the benchmark score?

so far so good... most of the reviewers thus far are quite satisfied with XZ1.

now, all i need is to get some hands on to see if the size and weight of the phone suits my liking.

Z and ZL are both flagship model in certain country. dunno y but Z and ZL are meant to be released in different country. meaning, countries that get Z will not get ZL and vice versa. Malaysia is sort of diff that sony malaysia decided to release both Z and ZL. but sony malaysia chose the non-LTE version of ZL. thus, making the ZL less "flagship" cos lack of LTE and waterproof feature when compared to Z. so, the true sony flagship in malaysia is Z, not ZL for H1 2013

usually, at CES in january, it is only launch/announcement. it will not go on sale that time. when the unit actually goes on sale depends on country. diff country will have diff on sale date.



yes, sony so far have 2 flagship per year. looking at their announcement dateis very similar

Q1 2012 announce XS (dunno exactly when as i don't follow sony smartphone that time)
Q3 Sept 2012 IFA announce XT/TX (T and TX are released in diff country)
Q1 Jan 2013 CES announce XZ/ZL (Z and ZL are released in dff country)
Q3 Sept 2013 IFA announce XZ1
rumoured Q1 Jan 2014 CES announce XZ2

as for XZU, as i said it's a new addition to the phablet.
but if some doesn't care phablet non-phablet, this means sony got 3 flagship model this year

gone were the days when sony smartphone comes bundled with lots of accessories. i doubt m'sia market will get that much accessories nowadays... looking at XZ, it's just the basic stuff

the stylus is the note series main strength and feature that really differentiate it from others. if u r not using it, i feel that the note is being under-utilize...

XZ1 suppose to be launched in like 2 weeks time. if XZU price is to be reduced to make way for XZ1, it will be anytime soon.

but... i think it may not reduce the price, or maybe just reduce a little. XZU just launched not too long ago. and that XZU is of diff category than XZ1, not so much conflict of market. spec wise XZU still consider same level with XZ1 and not outdated yet.
