its a dead pixel for sure, you may almost certainly request for a replacement

Why does black background can't see and the rest can see the white dot

i just got my rmbp screen replaced recently due to some ghosting occur sometimes, and the back of my screen actually got dent last time when i bang it to a cupboard. I bring to QCD to check and they replaced me a screen in the end. They also fix my flimsy "delete" key even though i did not ask them to do so. anyway, i just bring my macbook over without any other things as they can check through the system to know whether you are still under warranty or not.

just bring in your macbook for a check and ask the service person in details. if you are not sure, you can call apple to file a case first. the service guy from QCD did ask me whether did i file any case, if got then he will just follow up from there.

Can share how do you file a report to apple?
