My company is plan to buy a NAS for office use.

Main purpose:
1- shared folders (currently those share folders are in my server and my server need some space for new coming b2b system so plan move shared folders to NAS).
- Volume1/Data/HR              (For HR user only)
  - Volume1/Data/Account        (For Account user only)
  - Volume1/Data/Sales          (For Sales only)

Can set every user's right? like above?

2- backup accounting data.

3- centralized the sources for latest update (now we're email to head of department especially sales if any info  update such as product picture, price list, documents etc. then the head will pass to their teams.

Yesterday went to AllIT hypermarket and they suggest WD my cloud mirror, any comment on this?

any recommend NAS for above function? budget within rm1.5k to 2k

My nas cannot be discover in my local network. I have no idea what to be done. I try connect the nas directly to my laptop and I can access it. Need help here

everything did not change until recently i cant connect to it through my laptop and also my media player cant access it for movies playback

Why you plan the hdd size so rojak? How to raid?

2gb is enough.

But use 2lan cat6 connection. To increase the speed.(link aggregation)

Hello friends.

Im looking to get a NAS for my small office branch, about 6 staff, mainly for file sharing, alot of photos etc for our projects.

Can someone please recommend a brand/model that is easy to set-up and use remotely when needed?

1. Small Office around 6-8 staff
2. At least 4 TB size, probably more.
3. Easy to use/set-up
4. We handle alot of Photos and documents and we need remote access when we are out of the office as well.

Previously we've been using dropbox, but we want to upscale our database size and connect more staff to it.

Any help would be most helpful... im totally new to this NAS and stuff...

If my NAS faulty can I take the HDD to another brand NAS and access the file back? Currently using Smartstor and in the market nobody selling this brand anymore, can't get replacement anymore

Qnap and Asustor which one is more reliable? I'm considering this 2 brands since they can support jdownloader

Any brand will do, if want secure check into compatible list. Just make sure is same capacity or bigger capacity.

Hello NAS pros,

I'm thinking of using old PC as a NAS, just to stream videos so I can watch it all on tv via android tv box. Since economy not so good, I just want to use whatever free NAS software available, plan to do this with an old desktop PC that I have laying around.

So far I heard about FreeNAS and OpenMediaVault, even something called Unraid. But which is the best?

if I get you right, currently you have 7 drives on shr-2 and one drive died. when you pull that drive out to rma and put another drive in say the last bay it will repair itself. the sata positioning does not matter, the OS is built to detect the drive order again, so I don't think it will expand the storage. that's if I got your scenario correctly.

What brand and model of hard drives you installed in your Synology?

bought DS920+ Dammit DDNS dont work cause the huawei (TMNET) silver box blocking it......
