Gonna pump up my Big Apple tonight to 60psi. Usually only run around 25-30psi as I am doing offroad.

eally disappointed with the new bike. I've raised my concern to the shop since day one (last Friday). today i wanted to send bk to claim warranty but he ask me to send bk to rodalink because the shop don have parts ready then i call rodalink to find out, Rodalink turn me down and say must send bk to the shop u bought !!! I just found an old model Dahon Speed P8 and bought it straight without hesitation. Before that, I was considering the Tern Link P9, then I thought that the frame is also the same same as the Tern Link D8. The difference between the two models are ; the P9 uses Kinetix rims, has 9 speeds , a nicer Biologic handlebar grips, Schwalbe Marathon tires, a different seat post (but not necessary lighter) and a different a more compact seat. Oh yeah, a 53T crank!
That's about it. For that you pay 1K more. My consideration factor was, I has already upgraded all my components and I don't really care about components and hence the dilemma. Anyway for another 1K more, I can actually change Shimano shifters with Shimano RDs and change the rims. A little extra I can even mod a dual crank on it.

After yesterday's ride with 'robyn' who have just sold off his Java and got the Tern Link P9, I am totally off Tern Link P9 or Terns for that matter! bye.gif

The bike creaks like no other bikes does! 'robyn' almost crashed once when he was almost at the peak when the chain jumped and got stuck between the bash guard and the chain ring. Then it did happened again, he crashed into a culvert on the way down near the dam. When the chain gets jammed, the bike will braked suddenly! When I checked it during fixing it, it happens usually when the gear combinations are at the two extreme, ie. in gear 1 or 9. Maybe a narrower 10 speed chain can help but I am not convinced. Also the spokes on the wheels (right out of the box) are really loose.

'robyn' was quite dissappointed with his new bike but we did consoled him that maybe he was expecting too much from the bike. Maybe the day was just not his! rclxub.gif Then, I was glad that I am sticking to Dahons only. Just my opinion lah! Like they say, " Opinions are like a**hole, everyone has one ". Hahahaha.  tongue.gif

PS/ 'robyn' tried to register his bike for warranty purpose and it seems the bike serial number was INVALID

I'm totally understand the breaking-in for bearing, breaks and etc. But in my case it was too over, i really wish you were riding with me yesterday on the Fraser hill trip. We have around 10 people in the group with Dahon, KHS, Tern, Raleigh, Kalaq and "ayam" brand folding bike. Everyone also surprise on your so call "break-in" sound so loud and obvious non-stop all the way from KKB to Fraser Hill (40KM). The situation is just like riding my grand grand grand grand parents bike !!!  Everyone there did past through their so call break in period for but not like what i have so terrible !! Unless you tell me this is Tern's standard 

Besides that, the 2 times chain drop really almost kill me. Can you imagine how dangerous it is ?? The chain also need break-in period ?

For expectation wise, i wouldn't expect P9 can give me superb performance, if i really concern in spec then 2.8k i can get alot of choices. To be honest, what is expect is a good frame with good folding mechanism, that's why i willing to downgrade from Java 16 speed to 9 speed and PAY more, because i want something more solid and safer frame and folding mechanism in a long run,  but did i get that ??  Perhaps, yes but with chain drop killing experience and fantastic so call break-in sound 

Yesterday was riding with my friend on tarmac slightly downhill. I am in front and suddenly my fren crashed on head. How it happen according to him he duno why do sudden brake and it flip. (LGS bike).
Had a head trauma, broken teeth, crack finger and and blood from face etc. Blackout for a few seconds.
When I bring him to Clinic, he keep on asking me repeated question such as what day is today, are we riding together, and he cant remember anything except being in the office. (short term memory loss/lapse)
Then after cleaning injury, clinic suggest to go hospital. Go Columbia Asia Bandar Puteri, check by emergency dept (9pm) and ask me to go Sunway Medical as they doesn't have neuro-surgent there. When otw to CA, he finally started to gain back his memory. I thought he is back to norm but nope, it doesn't. Now he keep on repeating what he had jes said over and over again.
Reached Sunway, x-ray arm and found crack on finger and need plastering. X-Ray on head and lucky no problem after being checked by Neuro-surgent. Jes something like head trauma where patient suffer short term memory lost and will be back to normal after a few hours. What he did in short time, he couldn't remember. Admitted for a day for observation.
Later will go visit him again.. Freak me out. Now wan to cycle also takut takut a bit liau..

My new MADE IN CHINA Dahon Speed is ready after transferring all the components from the Dahon Eco C7. It is a good ride. Although Made In China, it seems to have been broken-in, as all the joints have no creaking sound, very silent. I think Sew Leong must have changed the tires and rode around Dengkil to break in the bike.  Suprisingly, it is not lighter than the Eco C7 frame. Now to fix back all the new parts onto the old frame..............sigh! Anyone interested?
