Wow, how high tech is the rain jacket lah?  shocking.gif
*
biggrin.gif
Hi-Tec is the UK brand lah. but they use high technology in their sporting goods.

The water just rolls off the jacket, like it was some goose feathers or something, inside lining keeps you cool, breathable, very lightweight material, called "Pour Off Shell" ... its ok to use for all outdoors or emergency use for example in case you have a car tyre puncture in the heavy rain .. bought it a bit bigger size so that can carry my back pack as well when wearing it...

after 40% discount still pay RM137+ shocking.gif

There was another type with heavier material, something called Amazon Rain Shell or something ** like that, about rm300, but I needed the lightest to carry on my bike..

Is the sale still on , just bought a tern link d8 3 months ago
*
No, the sale is over.

I did buy a long awaited item, the Topeak Road Morph G. Great pump, works just like a larger floor pump but is portable. Its longer so you can get the air in faster. The pressure reading gauge is helpful too.

Wow, I didn't know that Bukit Cahaya is this nice!

This is worth exploring as the roads are going to give you a lot of exercise!

http://www.cindysplanet.com/2012/08/cyclin...kit-cahaya.html

Really must explore if you have a foldable bike.

Just put in your car boot, park car in the Taman car park. Take out bike and cycle.

Put on hat / helmet. Bring lots of water.
Pack some nasi lemak / sandwiches and have a picnic in the park.
This is so enjoyable !

Advantage of cycling over walking or jogging is that you don't have to walk the miles and miles. If the hill is too steep, no choice, just get down and push lor. But you get to see more places in a shorter time...

One more thing is that if you jog, you will be putting a lot of up and down impact on your joints, especially the knees. If you are overweight, like 90kg, imagine how much force that will add up to on your joints, if you jog 1 km. No wonder my knees have been giving me problems over the last few years! While if you cycle, you are basically sitting down and just provide a circular motion with your legs... no impact at all! Just don't strain too hard when cycling.

Isn't cycling cool or what?

Also Nampak a yellow Dahon, a red GTA, Kalaq, Raleigh Ugo, Dash P18 and lain lain lagi    tongue.gif

Here is my photo pulak..hehe

Yes, ah? Where did you see my bike? Entrance? Next time, we say hi lah!

Wow, cool pics! I have not gone to this bridge yet as I had to go off after 10:30am. You cycle across the bridge?

Could not cover the whole Taman yet but it is certainly challenging in some hilly areas. Use first gear to climb hill... cycle, cycle, cycle, then out of angin di. Wooo, memang sweat a lot until the salty sweat went into my eyes and got the stinging effect, first time dis happen .... now in addition to helmet, I got to use a head band to soak up my sweat....

raining, so just mess around.

Wheels running Big apples on Kinetix Comp
then change to Kojaks on Kinetix Pro, can feel immediate difference, lighter, faster.

Don't have Duranos, if not, I think may be able to be even lighter and faster.

A silly question : Where & how you ride your folding?

I've been cycling on-and-off with full size bike.  I just have my first folding bike ride covering 20++ km on motor bike lane (16").  At the pit stop, I notice most of the guys have road bike crank installed, > 50 tooth.  The casual conversation is centred on "how fast".  On the ride, I tried follow those fast bikers but simply could not keep up ( my ave speed was 22km/h recorded by GPS), instead what I achieved is a faster credence vs riding full size bike.  Thus, I arrived this premature conclusion: Folding is most suitable for urban 'jalan-jalan' and 'cari makan' purpose, or as a short distance commuter.  For touring and speed, there are far better option available.  I don't want the fellow riders to tembak me because of this.  So would really like to know HOW and WHERE to you ride your folding.  Keep up the ride
*
Foldies can be fast too, just that you need the right foldable with the right gears and wheels, preferably with a total bike weight below 11 kg..

Do check out some 24 inch foldable , with a good set of wheels and an excellent FD and RD with the right gear ratios, and keeping up with big roadies is not an issue..

A group of foldies with 20 inch wheels went on a 95 km ride in a day.. So touring seems ok on small wheels too.

Hah, now this forum is getting to be very hot... more and more foldables are being bought. Pretty soon, we will be able to see more and more foldies riding in the city, parks, gardens, ... going to work... going to the shops...

Once you get your new bike, be sure to ride slow in the beginning, learn its various functions, change gears, learn the balancing part during stopping the bike and during cornering.

And if you ride at night, Lights are very, very important! Don't ride unless you have a rear light. The front lights can be a small torch light tied down to handlebars.. But the rear light should be red and this will be your life saver.

I finally bought a knog blinders rear... but expensive nya... yup, I can go night riding with a clearer mind now! The battery life is great!! rclxms.gif

user posted image

I did buy the knog blinders front much earlier, but like you said, the battery life is a little short. doh.gif

but the saving point is that it is bright enough for really dark roads..

must of the smaller ah pak shop will be more friendlier than the big ones...
but than again... lim bicycle is more friendlier compare to others...
most of them will be "friendlier" to you when you buy expansive bike or they know you are in the category of "modifier"...

like chin aik...they are the sole agent for dahon and tern in penang...
what to do...the uncle there have an attitude...
wait till you asked him to install a mud guard...
when I install my uno...waahhh lllaauu...he just ketuk the fender without loosening the screws...
I told him to be more gentle...he reply me by asking me if the bike can feel pain or only human can...

my reaction than...

If he were doing that to my bike, I would straight away ask him to stop! I will just take it out of the shop !

No way, will I allow such people to work on my bike. If you don't like your job, change it lah, don't take it out on customers.

Ahh.. Not surprising when the Sea Park shop's "tech" guy was merely a cycling enthusiast.

And yes, the RD used on the LD8 is a Suntour RD. Cost issue la..

By right, the bike shop should first, do a pre-delivery inspection and tune-up before selling the bike to your friend...

But all good things said and done, when you have a half-assed technician, that's what you get.

Anyway, good on you Wong Seefu, on addressing the problem..  thumbup.gif

thanks for the detailed concern, but what i more concern is the build. If it only need more proper cleaning then it should be good for me smile.gif

and I saw kalaq Q3 and Q5. what's the different?
*
Kalaq Q5 has disc brakes while Q3 has V brakes.

but weight is like 14 kg! I think its a bit heavy to carry up stairs and around the LRT / train stations.

Anyone knows where I can get a good price for a new XDS 16 inch foldable? XDS FA16 . Last price I got was RM750
