Hardcore (HC) Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I make a HC toon?
To unlock the option of making a hardcore toon you have to play a softcore (SC) toon up to level 10. Once you get to level 10, go back to character creation and create a new toon and remember to click the "Hardcore" button under the gender options.

2. What are the differences between HC and SC Diablo 3?

•Hardcore achievements
•No RMAH, only AH
•Stash, Blacksmith, & Artisan need to relevel up
•If you die, you..... lose access to your toon, equipped items, items in inventory and all items your followers have equipped

You will not lose your stash, gold, blacksmith/artisan & achievements.

3. Can I share items, gold, artisans, stash between HC and SC?
No, nothing is shared between HC and SC. You don't use the same auction house and you can't play with other heroes of a different mode. You can only share them with your another HC toon.

4. My character died but it's not my fault, can I get my toon back or at least cry on the forums?
No and No. Even if it's lag, a stealth nerf, a Blizzard employee comes to your house and covers your eyes, or a bug or glitch kills you at level 59..... You will not get that toon back and you can not cry on the forums. You must suck it up because all those things are part of HC play. Accept it or don't play it.

5. Do my dead heroes take up my limited number of character slots?
They don't have to. Any time after they are dead you can select the option to "Archive" the fallen hero. This will put them into their own list where you can view them at any time. Heroes on the archive list will not count towards your account's 10 character limit.

Bro..i think i'm not qualify to be in HC list yet..haven't achieve a lvl60 toon in HC, highest ever was the last char died last week lvl54...still trying and currently only 2 HC toon lvl10 standby to start over again...once reach 60 i update again

Do not underestimate MP3.

i roll my second barb wont go for any plan or uber anymore the KW make me sick ...... even i hav 64k HP 1055 AR ,10.569 ARMOR buffed WC ,12% elite reduce dmg , impairing effect reduce14% reduce range dmg 4% reduce melee range 5% all no use ,one KW curse all gone

uiii..like this if i ever reach level60..i think i stick to playing MP0-MP1 only...

Need to be very careful when you deal with the keywarden @ A4.
I went there 4 times until i got my plan.
There was always a pack of succubus elites.

P/S Let me know if you want a company for the A4 plan/key. MP3 should be pretty safe for me *touch wood*.

A wise decision

For barbs in HC, IMO, the most solid build is the WW/Rend.

You keep your EHP as high as possible.
You have your WW for mobility.
And you have your rend to save you from deadly hits & rubberbanding.

It is workable for both dual-wield or S&B.

You can choose your primary skill, either bash/cleave/frenzy or HOTA.
You can choose your last passive skill too.

Your main attack skill will be WW & rend.
Double WW + Rend can deliver high enough damage.
You can drop HOTA if you're not comfortable with it.

If you want to use HOTA, you can still use it on your primary click.
Use "unforgiving" when you're in town. The fury will generate and you use the fury to activate "battle rage". Change "unforgiving" back to your preferred skill.

yes when I start roll in HC ,I was tested ww in MP0 feel not secure, stick rend hota or rend leap ,but ignore pain 7sec very useful in HC...

ya, hell mp10 for fast leveling, but also has a big risk to die in 1 hit..
really scary.. both of us kena vortex.. really cant see this.. vortex and KABOOMM!! i only lucky sempat to click leap at the right time before explode..

thanks to gh0sty and wira4ce i manage to get 2nd HC barb earlier than i expected.. just finish Hell last night, now will carefully ans slowly finish inferno..

Your barb levelled fast.
My barb is at lvl35 now. Almost got all the gears ready, just an EF + BT pants to make it complete.

gears is the hardest part in HC all so mahal.. no more gold, all finish at my first barb.. going to sell some of my SC gears to support my HC gears

Yes, gears and gems are expensive.
Godly gears are very rare in HC too.

No, I don't hate shield.
Actually I have bought a rare shield for 8m, with 9% cc / 150+ STR & VIT / 50+ AR.
I'll stack more LOH with dual wield, 2500+ LOH. So I think it should be safe.

my opinion v shield hav 2k LOH v 6%LS wht u think....?
