that's because a series of factors la. ducati did well @ wsbk.
motogp prob started when they changed from trellis frame to carbon fiber. not enough front end feedback. which caused the riders couldn't gauge how the front tyre was behaving. and the v4 engine which was narrow but bloody long, which put the cog further back and reduced the front end weight. which caused the front bridgestone tyre, which had harder compound slower to warm up. changing the desmosedici philosophy from L-v4 to inline or other degree V, would void the company's heritage

the doctor has magical powers to overcome any mechanical woes.. even max biaggi almost cried once when he could not accelerate out of a corner as fast as the doctor...

i think ducatti did something wrong and nullified the doctor's magical powers... that why he won 1 race as soon as he came back to yamaha... yamaha gave the doctor his mojo back...

rossi n all other riders are more familiar with how a metal frame behaves. the carbon frame deadens the front end feedback. like how our carbon frame dampens the road buzz. that's why GP12 desmosedici has started using aluminum chasis. BUT, they are back to square one because they are not used to it. if trellis frame, sure can win la. but trellis frame has its own limitations.

but i agree, rossi can conjure wonders! after major crash in 2009, after weeks of rest, he got onboard a wsbk bike for a test, he managed to clock same time as the fastest wsbk rider on the same course. with all that damaged shoulder and broken legs.

the year rossi moved from honda to yamaha, was the final year where yamaha said would be the last time they used inline-4. at that time, only 2 manufacturers still used inline-4. if they couldn't win, then they would join the V bandwagon. and biaggi moved from yamaha to honda. biaggi said he could win on winnable machine, not with yamaha. rossi managed to prove that it's not always about the bike.

too bad, this year lorenzo is the main man at yamaha. rossi's second. guess rossi has something to prove, again.

rossi is god (at least in italy)... you give him a bike made of chicken feathers and runs on half a cylinder and he will still win, at least that is what the italians think...

and my theory that nullfied his magic powers comes from the fact that he sucks at 4 wheels.. i think ducati must have some "rossi kryptonite" on the bike.. else he would have been a world champion for 2 more times.. .no doubt... at least that is how the italians think it will turn out...

it's believed that, an italian can never win on an italian machine.
rossi is still the best. and will ever be the best. as an entertainer and a professional racer.
the desmosedici is an immature machine still at its infant stage. even rossi took about a season to perfect the yzr-m1

if carbon, you need carbon paste.. .not grease.. there is some fine sand molecules in those carbon paste to help the frame grip onto the post, stem and handlebar.. carbon on carbon is quite slippy...

sometimes, some people apply grease to their post for one of the two things.. so that it doesn't seize up after left for a long time and 2nd.. maybe some creaky noises from the post hence needing some filler to fill in minute gaps between the post and the seat tube...

very seldom grease the stem or handlebar...

alloy post + alloy/steel frame = grease

alloy post + titanium frame (or vice versa) = anti-seize

carbon post + aluminum/carbon frame = carbon paste

by using carbon paste, u can reduce the torque value when u tighten the clamp. coz carbon is sensitive. overtighten a little bit oso rosak

motorex's version of carbon paste is called carbon grease. it gums up when it dries and doesn't have that grainy residue

you can apply ky jelly if you want.. jus jokin...

unless it is creaking or it seizes for no reasons... grease is the ultimate el-cheapo way out...

jus say, dun choke your chicken too hard... mac wai knows everything on that subject... consult him for more information...

hi

would like to get some info from the expert here. is it legal to cycle in highway like LEKAS, LDP, NKVE, PLUS.....etc? do we need some permit or approval thing from the authority before cycling in those highway? last time i got a friend being chased out from NKVE.
