Based on the s4 trends, I believe the snapdragon version would have more developed support.

And sammobile mentioned that if the country receive both lte and non lte version, Samsung will launch the lte version first. Hopefully we can get the lte version immediate upon launch and don't have to wait for another month like s4

One thing that I hope for is the lte version will come with 32gb internal storage. 16gb really not enough. And if the screen size is really 5.7" then it is really a bummer..I was hoping for 5.9 o 6"

What is your current device? Just curious since your avatar says you're an android flashing maniac.

Yes, 5.7" is a bummer. However, I believe Samsung are trying to play it safe, given what we've seen of 6"++ devices.

They are all not mainstream except for some diehards (myself among them) who want large screened devices.

The XZU is the largest of all such devices, and the pro is the great screen. The con is that the size is not universally accepted. I guess the same goes with the Mega 6.3. The Note seems to hit a sort of sweet spot between pocketable/handbaggable vs too large to pocket definitely. I don't know if the handbag toting half of the population will view the size of the XZU as a con.

The only reasonable contender left in the Note space is the Asus Fonepad Note, likely to be with an active digitizer as well. The HTC One Max, ummm, seems to be just a larger One with no distinguishing features. It may appeal to those who want something smaller than the XZU and aluminium chassis.
*
Previously I'm using HTC one x with galaxy note 10.1 as my daily driver. But since my dad phone spoiled I have given him my one x and using the galaxy note 10.1 until note 3 is out.

To me xzu has never been my cup of tea..the size is too big to consider as a pocketable device. Plus there is no active digitizer which is another bummer to me as well as I really use the s pen a lot for training discussion and meeting jotting.

I thought of a note with 5.9" would be ideal.

i might thinking to change to Note 3, just because of the LTE only.. since the note 2 i'm using now don't have LTE..  tongue.gif

you guys think is worth to upgrade?
*
If the rumored specs are to be believed, what you are getting is more than LTE..you are also going to get a 3gb ram, 13mp camera with OIS, bigger battery, better screen and should have 32gb internal (based on s4 lte scenario)..we can also expect some better spen support

Wat? Only 3200mah?... Dammit.
Even htc butterfly s with only 5" screen have 3200mah battery.
Wat is Samseng thinking about these days??
*
Those are just rumored spec..nothing is confirmed. Although I myself hope for a bigger battery too, but who knows if Samsung is using a newer batt technology that can give better battery performance

If they are dropping the 16gb then it will be totally a good news, hopefully if 32gb is the lowest size, then 64gb can shed some light here.

I'm not so into the hardware spec of N3 besides the screen size, what I'm really looking forward into is if there is any new software innovation. Software features have become the key selection for me in choosing a new phone. Hopefully there won't be any half baked bloatware like in s4

Personally I don't know what more that they can add on software to top what's in the s4.

I am also of the opinion that you cannot expect any geewhiz stuff from.any manufacturer. Even the stuff in the Moto X is somewhat meh unless you are fond of talking to your machine like in Star Trek.

I suggest you think of the device as a pocket computer instead of a wowphone. There is nothing magical and there is no reality distortion field. Just install apps you need for what you need to do.

Only one thing though...more sensors and IR blasting will give it a few more brownie points, and with the stylus it will beat the Moto X.
*
Actually ever since using Samsung Note 10.1, I hardly use my laptop but it it can't be pocketable. So like what you said, I need to get a pocketable computer which I have been waiting for this N3.

Actually there are some unique features in moto x and g2 which I fins it very useful. The voice function in moto x is really useful. I don't intended to interact with the phone like star trek or tony stark with Jarvis, but considering using it while driving is very useful due to my field of work requires me to drive and reply text message a lot.

I do hope Samsung can improve the air gesture sensitivity. And I really hope the camera shutter hardware button can come backs to live. It is extremely useful especially our device is getting wider, it make capturing image easier with lesser hand shakes.

A writeup on some stuff that remains unknown for the Note 3 to date:

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Mysteries
http://www.gottabemobile.com/2013/08/19/sa...te-3-mysteries/

.....Recently, we saw Samsung register a domain with ‘pen’ in its name, a sign that the S Pen could play a significant role in the Galaxy Note 3′s success. This is something that is hard to dispute.

The Galaxy Note series is being thoroughly challenged this year by devices like the HTC One Max and Sony Xperia Z Ultra and it needs features, beyond the big screen, camera and processor to help it stand out......

===========

HTC One Max pictured today with something that seems to be a fingerprint sensor. Could the Note 3 get one too?

Fingerprint sensor is kinda neat, but nothing to die for though.
*
But I remember reading news that Samsung mentioned finger print sensor won't come to note 3

final question is --
Note 3 or ZU?

Which 1 worth to get?

For me.
Note 3 Pros:
1. 3GB ram
2. S Pen.

ZU Pros:
1. Bigger screen
2. ip57

Hard to choose.
Currently using S3 with 1GB ram. Having lack of ram issue.
*
Fixed.

Currently no one can tell you as the Note 3 is not even launched or announced yet. Even if it does, you have to decide which will serve you better as different people will have different needs. Not everyone will hunt for the top hardware.

As of now, I won't choose SZU as the size of the phone is too big to be pocketable (but I can't admit that I like the screen very much) and it doesn't has any active digitizer (which is one of the important feature for me). IP57 won't attracts me as the water resistance flap that covers all the ports is prone to wear and tear issue.

Oh yes, of course you can install Nova or Apex launcher onto it.
But not many people will do that onto their Androids.

Yes, I've tested on Note 2 with stock TouchP*ss.
It's not lagging, maybe due to its quad-core CPU and 2GB RAM.
However, TouchP*ss is consuming extra RAM, and therefore Samseng is increasing its RAM.
I don't see a necessity in this actually, but well, we end-users will rejoice because we got more than we deserved!

I can see that computers are slowing down.
Traditional computer RAM manufacturers are slowly moving towards mobile phone.
Only if we can change our phone's RAM...
*
Well, I have used before few HTC devices and also I have the note 10.1 with me and S3 with my sis. What I notice is that touchwiz uses more ram to keep the application in memory for your multi tasking purpose. Those day when I used the one x intenet browser and then open up the fb say for 15mins then when I try to open back the browser, all the taps have to be reloaded. But that's not the case with my note 10.1 and my sis s3. The reason why we need more ram is for multi tasking purpose. If you are given 2gb of ram and always paranoid to see it being occupied and have to kill apps constantly, then those unused ram is just wasted resources.

Anyhow phones are just a device for we to use. Just choose which suit you the best. For me, if you ask, I would still prefer sense over touchwiz especially in their phonebook and smart dial management. Sense can joint few similar contacts for you but with touchwiz you have tondo lots of things manually. But I know I will root my phone after getting it so the custom ROM helps to fox most of my issue. And from s4 and galaxy mega I can see touchwiz also made some improvement in their smart dial system. Furthermore HTC can sync higher resolution fr fb to be used as caller id but Samsung can't. But is that can't be fixed? I used friendcaster to remedy the problem. All you need to do is to do aome research.

I do agree not everyone will root their phone and like to flash custom ROM. So jz based on your own requirement and choose the best solution for you. Like what joytest mentioned, in android, you get all the flexibility you need.

If the report is true and Samsung will launch the snapdragon first before the exynos version, I'm more than happy with it. It seems like rumors are non stop circulating as the launching is approaching.

I believe they might add in some new features for S-Pen since it is the focus and geese of the Note phablet series. Hopefully OIS will come to the camera as well.

I won't hesitate to get it immediately if the screen is 6.3"..I know it may not be the mainstream size for everyone, but I do fall in love with the screen of my cousin's Mega.

until Samsung remove their damn menu button from the phone & replace it with recent button then i will consider Note 3. but i doubt so
*
Honestly, I would prefer menu key over recent app key. For me, I will use the menu key more than the recent key. Or maybe I have too used to long pressing home key for multi tasking since the very beginning of Gingerbread

Wow I really wish it to be 5.9 inch instead of the reported 5.7 inch display

Yes uncle, same as me, how I wish it could be at least 6 inch instead of 5.7 inch. After toying around with my cousin's 6.3 Mega, and when look at Note II in those Samsung store, Note II seems so tiny.

QUOTE(Superman7 @ Aug 26 2013, 10:57 AM)
almost borderless display would be perfect  thumbup.gif
but then still plastic finishing  sweat.gif
*
Yeah man, borderless display make the whole screen seems larger than it is but have to be extremely cautious as borderless display make it more prone to glass break.

Those day I'm very disturbed by the plastic material but coming to think that I will always put a case on it so don't care about the material dy.

Seems like the screen size is pretty confirmed. What left now is battery capacity and whether if ois will shed some light for Note 3.
