Ya..win some lose some.
Want premium nice unibody look...no removable battery..lolz
*
True. For me it's a give and take situation. I can bare with non-removable battery as long as the capacity is large enough but without expandable memory is really a no go. Used HOX with 32gb storage before and the limited space is killing me. But it's just me.

Those day I really like metal casing but premium material is nice to hold yet difficult to take care. It's very very prone to scratches (for metal) or break (for glass). In order to protect it we will always snap a casing with it. So I was thinking what is the point of the premium body if I can't show. So end up I prefer to have a good and solid phone + wide variety of nice casing with good protection.

Oh man..the counting down is killing. Samsung is really the only company that really knows how to keep their device under the carpet without much info leaked..

In the not too distant past, it was another fruit logo-ed company that did the same. The flame has passed on tongue.gif

I suppose by D-3 we should get 90% full leaks, like what happened to most of the Samsung devices in the last few months.

Agree..hopefully by the time, most of the casing will be starting to roll out, especially UAG drool.gif

Hope so. I heard Samsung drop the 16GB for their new phone.
If true...then better that way coz all Samsung pre-installed apps and features are getting bigger and bigger. Squeezing out the puny 16GB storage...lolz
*
Yup, that's what was being speculated for now. Have to wait till launching only we can know for sure. Hopefully when 32gb is the base standard, we can have the 64gb version available for local market by SME drool.gif

The problem is mostly with the pictures and videos.
Full HD and 10MP pictures sweat.gif
So min 32GB also problematic nowadays.

I hope they at least could change the hyper glaze finishing. I prefer the touch of GS2

From the type of pic, looks like we will see some kind of brush emulation effect on the S-pen as a native feature.

That's just my suspicion.

I'm quite agree to this. Based on GS3 wallpaper, it is going according to their nature ux theme and GS4 is based on their life companion theme..I'm wondering if those is the indeed the wallpaper of GN3, then I hv the impression that its theme is about art painting..well 5 more days to go for us to have the full info..

Rich people no time. Poor people like me plenty of time.  tongue.gif

Agree. After reading all the post, especially those by aspire2oo6, I wish to make some comment.

Although all this while I dislike iOS, but I do acknowledge it pros over Android. For my friends who doesn't like to / have no knowledge in customizing, I always advice them to get iPhone instead of Android as it is easy for them to use and the learning curve is not too steep and the apps support is much better than WP. But the restriction in iOS will never make me to choose an i product anytime for the time being.

Android ever since JB is pretty lag free, thanks to the project butter. Most of the time it's only the OEM launcher that slow it down, just a bit. A simple tweaking, even without rooting can solve all the issue by installing 3rd party launcher, which is free and highly customisable, like Nova or Apex. If you have the time and interest to learn about rooting, basically an Android device is more like a pocketable simplified laptop which you can do ALMOST everything with your device.

As for iOS vs Android there are already plenty of article and discussion if you google about it and we don't have to waste our time debating here. But associating rich and powerful people with iOS is not accurate. Most rich and high profile people are busy and they don't have time to play with their phone, hence they choose the easiest phone to use. I'm working in an MNC company, and most of the top management and expatriate they use iPhone for email and callign purpose. But during holiday and weekend, they always toy around with their Android devices.

In conclusion, there is no single best OS for the time being now. Just choose which OS work best for you and invest your resource and time in it.

It's going to be on 4 September in Berlin, so it will be likely 1am on 5 September here. I am not certain about the actual time though.

1am here is 6pm in Berlin I think.

Hmm..if judge from this picture, it seems like there will be a thick bezel around the screen. Based on the leaked image, the bezel should be 2.2mm thick hmm.gif

Finger print sensor would mean the Note 3 would be at least as thick as the current Note 2
*
Can't be sure, but I recall Samsung ditched the rumors about finger print sensor in Note 3, unless that was just to hide the info and wanted to create some hype towards Note 3

I pity anyone who hopes the note 3 design is gonna be drastically different than the renders.

Seriously, the only thing important now with smartphones is reliability. Whats the point of looking so awesome but have all kinds of software and hrdware issues? My note 2, for the past 11 months has been so god damn reliable in terms of stability and batt life.
These days im using 3G a whole lot more tgan before, and yet the up time is over 12 hours, which is definitely enough for a full work day. And it only got a lil wonky when i was experimenting with something a few months ago.

Really looking firward to another year with a new Note!! To hell with the stereo speakers of the Max lol. Not gonna sacrifice stability/reliability/quality of something i just cant live without these days.

Edit:Excuse my typos, using my iTouch which doesnt have swiftkey tongue.gif
*
Agree..stability and reliability are most important. Those day I'm very particular on built material as I'm seriously liking metal body. However I realized we always snap a case to our phone, so no matter how beautiful the phone is, most important "beautiful" elements depends on the case. Now for me, besides reliability and stability, developer support and OEM updates are crucial for me in choosing a smartphone. Although Samsung is not known of fast and speedy updates, but at least most of the flagship device still receive android updates compared to the other manufacturer.

Why can't we get all good looking, good hardware and reliable? It's not even impossible to do.. Apple, HTC, Sony and LG proven it.. Samsung when? I think Samsung's design department is just lame.. Period
*
Not that I don't like good design phones with good reliability and stability, but there are things you have to trade off.

HTC - it has been bashed for few years due to lacking of new design from Desire to DHD to Sensation and all the way to One X. I have both DHD and One X and the build quality is top notch (metal and unibody poly-carbonate) and doesn't look cheap but still there are people dislike it. Then it comes the One which capture everyone's attention and everyone wow about it and I love it on first sight. But due to the unibody design, it lacks of expandable memory and removable battery.

Sony - whole front and back panel with glass coupled with water and dust resistance which is also a very pretty looking device. However there is no removable battery again and the flaps that cover the ports are flimsy and prone to wear and tear. Glass panel is easy to break if you fall it. Glass and metal panels are heavier too where nowadays 5 inch display is going to be a norm.

Samsung - it retains all the removable battery and expandable storage but made of plastic. I come to think that many dislike it is because the type of plastic used and the curve design it used on S3 and S4. There are many people like S2 design and the type of plastic used in S2 is very nice as well. I believe if Samsung change the type of plastic used then it should be fine.

Of course there are many materials can be considered by Samsung and I love to see the change Samsung might employed but for now (and for me) I don't see the issue in Samsung and all my phone I will put on a casing so for me, Nice Looking Phone vs Nice Looking and Widely Available Casing, I will always go for the latter one.
