Guys..go and watch the hands on video from Engadget, may information revealed there..from homescreen, slide up from the bottom and you will have a flipboard homescreen ala blinkfeed style from HTC One..
One thing that bugs me is that in homescreen, you can only place 4 icons instead of 5 This post has been edited by WiLyi: Sep 5 2013, 02:49 AM |

Some ppl really hate Samsung..at first all bashing at looks, then now they change the look and ppl now starting to bash on fake metal and fake leather..seriously? The features not good enough to focus rather than the "fake" things?

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Sep 5 2013, 05:15 PM) I'll definitely get the SD800 version as the LTE version in S4 is better than the acts version especially in GPU..glad that 32gb is the base model..The white model really looks classy especially with da stitching |

QUOTE(joytest @ Sep 5 2013, 09:13 PM) Added, and after looking closely at the pics of the back panel, I think the NFC antenna is in the battery. I think the NFC is built into the phone and not the battery..let's see if we can dig more info or not..Still, you can also notice a trough all around the battery cavity, which has a corresponding ridge on the back cover. I strongly suspect this provides a small amount of water/splash resistance from the back. I wonder if they did any kind of splash resistance from the front? I still don't see how the area can be splash resistance, or may be I doing hv good observation like u |

QUOTE(joytest @ Sep 5 2013, 09:33 PM) Hmm..I don't think so..usually water or splash resistance will hv some rubber material to close all the gaps.. But I may be wrong..Not sure where I read dy, but Note 3 seems like don't have all those air gesture gimmick from S4..not sure for the rest, but for me it seems better as those gimmicks are still half baked |

QUOTE(destEX @ Sep 5 2013, 09:52 PM) This round the backside of the flip case is not the same size as the battery door..its a bit longer and protruding from all sides which make it to hv better protection than the previous flip case |

QUOTE(un_id @ Sep 5 2013, 10:23 PM) what do you guys think about this? https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2949206 Honestly this Alcatel One Touch Hero is really a good contender to Note 3..it is 6 inch sized screen, comes with its own active digitizer and the magic flip seems interesting. Waiting for more hands on and review especially on the active digitizer functionality.i like the idea of having the e-ink reader screen panel, as for now Kindle paperwhite is my book Well for me, all other phablets that without an active digitizer I saint consider it as a Note series contender. Note is known for the digitizer and pocketable big screen. |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Sep 5 2013, 11:17 PM) Arghh..after looking at Youtube..it shows that the sdcard slot is sitting at the same place with the simcard. Duhhh...there goes sdcard hot swappable. Now we need to take out the battery just to change the sdcard QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 5 2013, 11:18 PM) The SD card sits on top of there sim card. You can still hot swap the SD card without removing the battery. Only the sim card will be affected by the battery |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Sep 5 2013, 11:23 PM) You sure..? I forgotten which hands on article or video but I do remember they mention the SD card is hot swapable as it sits on top of the sim card I saw at Youtube but they not show which slot is which..as demo set no sdcard or simcard mounted at that time. Really hope that its hot swappable EDIT Found it, from GSMArena CODE The bottom slot holds the microSIM card, which is blocked by the battery, while the top slot is for the microSD card, which can be removed even with the battery in place. The Note 3 comes in 32GB and 64GB versions, but with a microSD card slot we doubt many people will go for the 64GB option. This post has been edited by WiLyi: Sep 5 2013, 11:37 PM |
