so fast get 2nd dog ar? why dont wait till dog mature first then only get 2nd one ba.

one of the pet shop owners that i met actually say better let my furkid interact with some other dogs after he finishes all his vacci coz if not they might grow to b afriad of other dogs coz they have never met another....
so i was thinking of another partner for him might b a gd idea also...

but actually will they grow to b afraid of other dogs ar??...coz thats what i heard from the pet shop owner...

i think its true.
xun2 find it hard 2 accept other dogs. even puppies of 2-3 months old.

so i would like to get a pal for mikey as soon as i can...so that he won b lonely and can interact with other doggy friends better...

wouldn't it be harder to handle? lolx

the best age to let some other dog will be like what the shop owner say and someone say is better to be below 1 years old =')

other matter to be concern will be the personality of the dog , some really a jealous type , better goggle to know more personality of the dog

A story to share , my friend own a american cocker spaniel 7 years back . A lovely ACS always being love by owner suddenly owner decide to get a GR as her 2nd dog when the ACS at age 3 years old . Okay , the american cocker started to get jealous and dont like friend with the GR . But Gr is a friendly dog , the GR woudn't mind the way what ACS treat her and the worst thing is when ACS eat her meal , never let other dog near her , will bark if she know other will near her meal time . okay ACS at age 4 , her husband buy a BUlldog for her , the ACS become more more fierce and always fight with the bulldog . The bulldog and ACS always fight to be the leader at house =')

Actually babymiki got a concern point here . Well rearing two dog at the same time will be more busy , and hard to handle when come to training . Actually my recommendation will be after Mikey done it training and u satisfied with Mikey performace only consider find a friend for Mikey . Main point will be allow you to be easy to teach a dog Just my 2 cents anyway . Decision will goes to you also =')

yup. wait ur current dog behave then only get 2nd puppy. at leat 2nd puppy can learn from ur current dog right?

Actually my Gf's uncle own 4 dog . His shihtzu now almost 14 years old .
and the shihtzu teach the other 3 dogs . This is what my Gf's uncle told =')
i went my GF's uncle place during CNY , My Gf's Uncle dog really obedient and never fight .
He say when he own other 3 dogs , he no need to teach them already and the other dog seem understand basic command , and this is true . All his dog stay indoor even though a Doberman can friend with shihtzu =')

My recommendation is better teach good a dog first then only decide get a friend for own furkid .
so the other friend of your furkid can learn a good thing from Senior , Just my 2 cents .

You know why? This is coz Alpha status.... you may the Alpha leader in the pack but then the 2nd dog in command will help with the heirachy of the pack too. Like my shih tzu last time, he was the boss of my 2 boxers and lab.... if they don't behave properly, he will bark at them till make them lie down or hide away.

This is why I did state earlier, the best age gap for dogs is 3 years.... you get 1 pup 1st, train it and once it reach 3 years old, get another dog.... the older one will teach the younger one manners and rules. Basic pack instinct lah.

1 year old? will give you headache.... 3 years. Most dog behaviour and dog keeping guide says 3 years.

yeah , i remember my Gf's uncle shihtzu like almost 3&half years old then they only get another dog so this is why Hun recommend 3 years old is the best age to get another dog

hmm, wanna ask something.
Prince is very unfriendly to my rottweiler n spitz. he owez barks at them whenever they are in his sight, although apart of a iron gate n sliding door. like wanna fight leh.
whenever he barks, jack2 will go bark at Prince, like asking him 2 shut up like dat.
means jack2 is the dominan although he is 1year younger?

No.... more like Jack Jack joining the fun. If Jack Jack is dominant, he would be growling and making Prince back off.... so I see more like Jack Jack is following the leader.

Prince is used to be dominant, with all the markings... females rarely wanna take over male dominance....

ee, but everywhere Prince wee wee, he'll go wee wee to cover Prince's smell wor. oso follow da leader ar..

Covering up pee is normal for all male dogs.... this is why I said neuter, you won't have all these dominance and male behaviour problem after neutering hahaha.

For now, will take care of the doggy, 1 month later, only see whether got any suitable candidate to adopt, if found a better home, then maybe rehome lor, see how.
