the fact is, if it is only RD, surely no problem. But once combo affix comes into play, RD + (insert your favorite elemental affix here), there is where single LS will not be sufficient to face tank. You will either need to:

reposition (DS, TR, Manual movement)
use serenity
use cc skill (LTK, Bell)
use high damage spirit skill (etc Bell)
drag trash mob to increase LS

not too mention if your EF keep fearing elites, you will most of the time stick with 1 elite at a time only, thus reducing your LS efficiency.

Well, I've found out that it's not mandatory to use serenity or high burst dmg skill especially WoL to survive and certainly doesn't need double ls. Dashing Strike -Blinding Speed is more than capably sufficient to keep our monk out of trouble.

Eventhough EF does make the elites fear our nephalem , however they'll come back soon enough and join the battle again. Furthermore, the target doesn't run away when it has been feared by EF while under DS -BS since it is rooted however must be activated every second. So by playing properly, elite is still within striking distance of our fists attack.

Just for your info., sometimes I choose to make the elite be fearful because it's better to teleport (via DS -BS) out of the area that has been almost fully covered with elemental pain.

That bolded part is why your point of single LS is sufficient in mp10. Its not because you can survive solely with single LS tanking the elites, you are using skill to mitigate some of the damages.

And if you are using spirit spender like Bell, of course single LS would be sufficient. Provided you can sustain your spirit regen.

what do you mean root? i am not aware of any rune in DS that can do that... except Flying Kick that has chance to stun only the target. even so, when the mob move away from group, the explosive palm has less effect on other mobs...

ps: all DS has 1 sec root... ok so... if u can do that every second... hmm... interesting...

Therefore, the fear factor that EF contributes is a controllable feature via DS -BS activation. Sometimes, it's preferable to let the target run away in order to let your monk teleports to it out of the area that has been fully covered with elemental dmg.

I use EP all the time with NDE passive. RD mob kaboom, i'm still standing

EP was one of the jaw dropping skill when Bliz first introduce their monk in blizcon 2009. it's like the Kill Bill 2's "The Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique" awesome...

nirvana+CS+pillar combo:
1. activate nirvana by targeting 2-3 elites;
2. quickly place 3 pillars at the surrounding to create a triangle shape;
3. spam CS to vacuum mobs into middle of triangle..

this setup looks so damn cool , i wonder is there any videos on this kinda setup
