If try to disassemble then could void your warranty. Another choice is to send for RMA, and let them do the work instead... How to take it out? QUOTE(lex @ Jul 24 2013, 03:00 PM) Nooo, I tried to talk to Dell, one full hour of conversation, and the result, they call this as "Natural Disaster".There is nothing they can do about it. This is a new monitor, and now I have to spent the whole time viewing dead body of this guy when I use my monitor |

You need to wait untill warranty expired than you need to disassemble all part and remove the ant. There is nothing they can do about it. QUOTE(h@ksam @ Jul 24 2013, 09:23 PM) lol Dell Dell Dell... Nope, they totally cant do anything.the next time someone asks me what its like owning a Dell, my reply would be, "Like a natural disaster" did they even bother to quote you a 'repair' price? I ask him, just send some technician to assist me, as I believe they do have proper tools to disassemble the monitor. But they cant, since they said, for monitor, mostly they will do 1 to 1 exchange, I dont want to change the monitor The technical support cant even tell me how is the structure of the monitor in details. QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Jul 24 2013, 06:01 PM) do keep this thread updated because i had similar problem except the ant is still alive. want to know if dell will honor the warranty. I called them again today!I tell them, different story, saying that there is a black dot inside my monitor and I couldnt get rid of it. I didnt mention it was an ant, just a black dot. Guess whattttt, they will do 1 to 1 exchange in 4 days Failed Dell |

QUOTE(NotScammer @ Jul 25 2013, 10:38 AM) They would be puzzled at a dot with legs But as mentioned before, you might have to pay a price for giving the wrong description if they open to find an ant inside... nodeffect, OP stated that his warranty expires in 4 years time. If no more warranty, you can try opening it. That's the only way...

If the monitor assemble in proper way, I think the ant shouldnt manage to be there at very first place? Btw, the called me just now, tomorrow they come change new one |

It doesn't make sense that someone would want an ant there in the first place. If the monitor assemble in proper way, I think the ant shouldnt manage to be there at very first place? Btw, the called me just now, tomorrow they come change new one Dell's at fault and they should honor their warranty policies. |

QUOTE(NotScammer @ Jul 24 2013, 03:42 PM) Once familiar with dis-assembling LCD/LED monitors, it can be quite easy although not for the faint hearted (speaking from experience here). There may be warranty seals on the sides and if these are broken then warranty may be void. QUOTE(NotScammer @ Jul 25 2013, 08:25 AM) I called them again today! That's good news. I tell them, different story, saying that there is a black dot inside my monitor and I couldnt get rid of it. I didnt mention it was an ant, just a black dot. Guess whattttt, they will do 1 to 1 exchange in 4 days QUOTE(NotScammer @ Jul 25 2013, 10:38 AM) You can say its looks like a "manufacturing defect" if questioned. |
