Hmm...
Already file the police report, and also file maxis as the person who responsible letting other to misuse my IC.
Probably i will get more than that lol >.>

Btw, i called hotlink department yesterday, and compare to maxis postpaid department. Seem like the postpaid CS is more senior but the hotlink is junior/trainee.

plan detail or link?
*
Maxis capped RM250 (I think other Telco as well) for data usage without data plan.
So you no need to sign any plan, just a postpaid line, and use it.

Fellow sifus, I'm new to 3G broadband. Need some help here.

The location where i stay is not LTE ready and according to Maxis, can get max 6mbps. Using my phones (android, iOS, and windows) all can reach the speed of close to 6mbps with average ping time of 80ms.

While using 3G dongle, i only can reach close to 2mbps, mostly 1.5 mbps or lower.  with average ping time of 100ms.

The 3G dongle i used so far are E1552, E173 and E367, all returned same results.

Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Go buy some modem like E372, E392, E398, E3276....

I am a bit curious if change to those mentioned by you will help because All 3 modems i am using should be capable of doing download above 2mbps.
E1552 (3.6mbps)
E173(7.2mbps)
E367(21mbps)

but my location as stated by maxis won't be able to achieve more than 6mbps which i already tested with my phones so its a bit pointless for me to buy an even faster modem right?
*
No.
I think most maxis network is capped / load balancing for each type of network.
You can read this at maxis website:
http://new.maxis.com.my/content/maxis/en/p...-broadband.html

The Service speed is on a best effort basis. Speed depends on factors such as modem capability, location, coverage, distance from communications tower and number of simultaneous users. The typical average speeds for the LTE Mobile WiFi Modem (MiFi) are between 10 to 30Mbps; 21 Mbps Mobile WiFi Modem (MiFi) and PortaFi modem are between 1 to 5 Mbps; 7.2 Mbps USB modem are between 500 kbps to 2 Mbps.

Something funny happened in my area last few days.
The nearby tower is half-spoiled. The signal reduced 50% now. My phone signal from 3-4 bars dropped to 0-2bars.

But because of i have panel antenna, my signal still maintain at -65dbm. I have a very good speed and ping even at peak time, probably all the other competitors cannot fight for the bandwidth lol.

I don't report the tower issue to maxis >.<

I already filed them on TTPM.

Next is SKMM.

After that will consider file them to police report, for cheating customer. And use the police report to file in court for lying customer, doing illegal business, request to suspend their service until investigate.

ur T&C have this term : terms and conditions may be modified, varied, amended, supplemented or withdrawn by MMSSB
if yes... then...  sweat.gif

btw @blacktubi should open the 'other' thread....

I agree most of the products/services are having this T&C.
But there are acts that also protecting customer right too to prevent the provider amended/modified T&C that 100% disadvantage to the customer.
I only agree that the provider has the right to modify the T&C for suit the current situation/needs to protect themselves but not their profit, in an acceptable level. For example their server can't load for full speed anymore, they capped us at 7mbps.

Let say they have this T&C, does that mean they can do whatever they want? They can simply adjust to RM200 tomorrow, or capped at 1GB next week?

The requirement of the tablet that I want is just run PPS smoothly, that's all, no gaming whatnot. That's why I'm looking for cheap tablet since running PPS doesn't require lot of cpu/gpu powers, but I've no idea how long are those cheapo china brand tablet can last.

Any suggestion?
*
If you just used to watch PPS, why don't buy an android hub and watch at TV?
Except you want to bring outside.

I only heard Apple and samsung(?) phone exploded before, didn't hear anything about china phone/tablet though. The worst case scenario is the battery or component dies very fast, like those chapalang powerbank can only charge one time lol.

I heard Ainol tablet quality is not bad. But not cheap too.

Sue them??? Do u have this $$$.

Better get DAP for help. DAP have their own lawyers team.

Consumer court or known as TTPM, only RM5 to register.
And corporate like maxis, cannot hire lawyer to defend themselves.

Tried TTPM b4 but the judge is always favor to merchant side. Y I knew? bcos had been there for few times already for other cases.

I have no idea for the outcome.
But this time involve to a lot of peoples. If many customers go to report, like 10-20k reports, i think maxis will open for negotiation. If they really lose, they might pay few mil or more to the customers. I don't think their management want to take this risk and it is hard to explain to the board of directors.

But everyone must able to report and willing to attend the court, it is a problem.

and i find maxis is trying to abuse the "FUP".

FUP is different with download quota. Quota is more like the package which you have signed.
Some ISPs use FUP to protect their shared resources which will not overloaded and all users can get fair treatment with the limited resources.
I agree all of the ISPs are having FUP to protect their server and system. Some of the ISPs are really providing truely unlimited without quota, unless the server is down, then the load balancing have to kick in and the FUP applied.
But maxis is using these examples to misleading us in the FAQ. They are using the FUP not only to protect their system, and mainly their profit.

If they don't afford to lose, then don't define these plan as "unlimited" in the beginning. Don't tell us that it is unlimited, but only speed capped after the quota. If this is the case, then why they don't change all of their normal plan to "unlimited" since 1GB+ plan is already "unlimited"

Obviously they abuse the unlimited and FUP term.
