Too bad I did not know glozz were going to buy things from that site, else I would have considered getting this:

http://www.great-save.com/cnYf591171125/Sp.../p-107-108-119/

Anyhow, I definitely need a new pair of shoes for my futsal session, any recommendation? Also, where do you think I would be able to get a nice deal on Nike's Rolinho Clube ball?

Walk in to any Nike stores or even Al Ikhsan shops in KL, you may find this futsal ball.

I can't recall which is which but there's 2 type of Nike futsal ball. One of them is stitched, another is glued. I used to own one of those glued ones but its not exactly the most durable ball. Then i donated this ball to the Glozz Futsal Goalkeeping Foundation, called GFGF. Went on to buy one of those stitched ones for RM79. So far so good.

If i remember correctly, the glued ones are RM59 while the stitched ones are RM79.
*
Yep, I saw those. I was hoping someone could tell me where I could get it cheaper. I am aiming for the stitched one, and in lowyat someone was selling them for around rm20 bucks cheaper, so perhaps I could get the same deal in Pertama complex of such.

Actually; contrary to popular believe; Pertama is not cheap. It's just that they offer alot more variety; for Malaysia larr. I don't buy gloves in Malaysia; period.  cry.gif

Added on November 25, 2008, 2:45 pmHaha; just cut off the sleeves of my existing training jersey and my spare jersey. Think my other long sleeved I'll maintain since the padding extends all the way and I find it more useful like that. Thanks tenno; think I only need to consider getting one next year.  thumbup.gif
*
Aye, I have checked out their prices and most of them are similar to what we get outside, but I think there are one or two shops that will be willing to lower their profit margin abit la since competition there is tight. And I need a pair of futsal shoes anyway, so no harm checking out Pertama.

I have found cheap gloves outside in those small sport shops though, including my pair of Uhlsports for like 50 bucks biggrin.gif Happy times indeed. And it is far more durable than my Adidas or Pumas, which big chunk of latex came off the first day I used them for futsal cry.gif

You know how to cut of the long sleeve GK shirt to make it 3/4? Coz currently mine is far too long, have to fold it = annoying.

QUOTE(glozz @ Nov 25 2008, 04:58 PM)

Yeah; it's quite serious; thus always on the lookout for committed GKs to join. Not sure whether you're interested in futsal GK training though. Train in Subang. Either Sun/Monday nights and Wednesday nights.
*
I remember you mention you do play in Klang? I have transportation problem as well as commitment biggrin.gif I do not mind strenuous training, but can't guarantee attendance every week. sad.gif

Which part of Subang you playing in? And is it just pure training or playing at the side? Because I could then drag a couple of my friends there as well.

what diffrent between goalkeepr for normal football and futsal keeper?
*
Quite some differences.

One, the game is much much faster and you are far more involved (unless your footie defence sucks) compare to football. Also, foot skills are more important in futsal as you, even as a keeper, is expected to be involved in ball playing and creating chances. In fact, you are in one of the better positions to judge if a chance could be made due to you having more time, space and coordination (when you have the ball at your hand) to get a good pass that splits the defence or creates a goal scoring chance.

Also, due to the goal, size doesn't really matter that much which is a good thing, positioning is more important I feel as you can be a crap keeper (like me) that can hold his own because of decent positioning (like me).

i want to know where can i find goal keeper equip..
such as knee pad....
for now i juz wear a knee guard..
n sumetimes it hurts my knee alots..
*
Urrm, is it due to some prior injury to your knees or is it because you have the wrong technique? You mean you keep getting your knees scraped when you dives into save a ball?

QUOTE(giotto @ Jan 28 2009, 11:22 AM)
Where do you live or play your regular futsal?

Some of our guys are from some different part of Klang Valley and you guys can car pool if there is one that stays nearby you.

I still have a new pair of Puma 4.0 Palm here size 8 biggrin.gif

I am getting far more comfy with the Puma futsal specific gloves thus the 4.0 is not tested as of yet. That also meant my Uhlsports is getting a long rest biggrin.gif

Well, handling a powerful shot isn't really a problem, I've learned to save using the more "shock absorbent" part of my body (hands, shins) that pretty much does not hurt regardless of the shot power. Learn how to avoid getting hit in the face or groin and you will find it is not painful at all handling a power shot.

The real concern comes from those who have no idea how to control their movement in a close-up situation. I've had studs, boots and kicks planted all over my body because a striker cannot recognize when he/she had missed their chance to score against me. That's where the danger comes in, you might already have your hand on the ball, but they continue to kick it, opening up a real possibility of injuries to your fingers or body and for what? A goal that would have been disallowed anyway in a competition?

Those are for paintball, not goalkeepers. We do VERY different things that really requires whole range of movement. Arm guard will seriously limit it and plus, have anyone really had their arms injured playing goalkeeper before?

I still hate wearing protective gear, even though I have 2 knee pads and shin guards in my kit bag biggrin.gif .. The lack of training and motivation is getting to me though, I have a tendency to instinctively dive to my left in most of the situations, which you imagine does not help when covering the near post on the right. I used to make up for this with positioning and concentration, but lately I can see that is lacking from my game.

Maybe I really do need to go to bro tenno's goalkeeper classes tongue.gif

I've branch out to swimming and running too, thus not spending much time on futsal, only once a week.
