Yes. Channel 835 is a temporary channel for the live broadcast of US Open 2013 (according to Astro). I knew it. Whenever a HD channel is putted on ch.835, it's gotta be temporary.

good day to all.

i got my byond decoder n byond dish recently from a friend and took it home to install.

unfortunately my technician couldnt come to help me change my old astro dish to the new byond dish as he met with an accident

but i kan chiong wan watch US Open and he said juz hook up the byond decoder with the old dish 1st, and he will drop by to change the dish much much later.

so i plug in the dish cable ( white color ) and use the HDMI cable to connect to my TV.

test here test there, it keeps on showing SCNA and voila after 2 hours,  finally got picture ! hehe

i then realise that ONLY HD channels can watch, the rest all show SCNA....

pls help me to rectify my problem

can anyone tell me how my hbo hd no dolby digital sound?i have put optical cable already,but only have stereo sound only,setting also set 5.1dolby digital.

I am planning to get a second decoder(multiroom), and install at my another house. Few kilometer away.

What is the minimum speed connection require so that while watch VOD, it doesnt lag...
I m only using streamyx 512kbps...will it be smooth while watching?

been using it for almost 2 month..
well if u online gaming person, yes... it is bad
but for torrent and normal surfing, they go all the way..
anyhow.. been craving for new channel...
btw, these channel are not from astro, they from maxis.. cuz so far as i know, no astro commercial on these channel..

What happened to Channel M HD on normal Astro ?

channel M HD - Korean channel from FOX International Channels. Available with either -

Mandarin/Korean audio with Chinese Subtitles OR
English/Korean audio with English Subtitles

Setanta HD is also known as Setanta Sports HD or Setanta Rugby HD - a HD Rugby Channel

For ch M, my guess is astro/maxis is offering the English audio/Engish Subtitles...need someone to confirm when the ch is launched.

BTW, somebody has edited on Wiki that HD version of History Asia will be ceased by this 16th at midnight. Not sure if it's true or not, but looking back at bio. channels removal this has to be 50-50.

Assumed it's still waiting for approval from the authorities, MDA. Everything has to seek their approval. ;-)

RTL CBS Extreme HD only launches in Q1 2014 across Asia. :-)

I've been a subscriber of Astro B.yond PVR for quite a while now, and up until recently (two weeks ago is the last time I'm very sure), I could record a HD channel and still watch an SD channel. This is just using a splitter to split the ONE cable coming in from the condo riser into two to connect to the two sockets at the back of my PVR - i.e. NO two separate cables coming from the riser, and NO stacker/destacker.

However, I noticed three days ago that it no longer works for me, and after checking, I noticed that the signal strength (NOT signal quality) is now between 50% and 60%, well below the 80% to 85% level I always thought was the optimal signal strength necessary for the proper operation of the Astro PVR. After all this time of satisfactory operation, now Astro and even the condo management is telling me I need a stacker/destacker which I have to pay RM350+ for!!! This seems pretty outrageous, especially since Astro REFUSES to make any attempt to fix/boost the signal strength of the centralised dish of the condo block to prove to me that that isn't the problem.

As such, I would like to get some help and opinions before I decide what to do next.

a) Is anyone here with an Astro PVR living in a condo/apartment block still successfully able to record a HD channel and watch an SD channel at the same time using just a splitter setup like mine - i.e. WITHOUT a stacker/destacker in the setup? If so, can you please tell me what % level or value your signal strength is at?

b) For people currently a stacker/destacker, can you tell me if the quality and reliability of your PVR operation is good enough for what you paid for it? Also, is RM350+ the going rate for it, or is the stubborn Astro guy trying to take me for a ride?

Just wanting to see if I have any options, or if I really need to spend money to fix the problem. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
