for starters the astro hbo is stretched version of SD.. it is not true HD

No wonder our HBO has no HD on the logo

Our SD HBO 411 is basically a simulcast and letterboxed HBO HD 431, when viewed with LCD TV and stretched... It looks wierd...

For those who interested of "scrutinize" the b.yond (non Samsung, lol) interface.

Anyone here encounter problem with the new Samsung PVR STB? Mine sometimes when power on from standby it will give me screen with green tint and then all the remote key including the button panel wont be working and I will having to power off it completely to reboot it. But is very rare...

Ohh... is it due to Astro currently requiring customers with older STB to upgrade with newer unit? Actually I still got another PVR decoder for multiroom which is older than this Samsung decoder 1 generation and it is still working flawlessly.

I think the hard disk in my Byond PVR just died yesterday.

There was a grinding sound in my Astro, and my recordings under My TV are missing and attempts to book new recordings returned the error message 'Booking Failed'.

Watching live content is fine though, just lost PVR capabilities.

I hard reset and even attempted to format the hard disk, but no improvements at all.

Will I get a free replacement hardware, or do I need to fork out $$? The PVR is only 14 months old

Called the Astro IPTV helpdesk this morning to report the issue, and they will be sending someone over tomorrow morning to check my PVR

The Time DotCom contractors came this morning and simply replaced the PVR for me, didn't even bother testing the existing unit

Unfortunately it is a refurbished unit so its still on firmware v5.0, need to wait for it to get upgraded to 8.0 again

I tried it on my old unit and could never get it to work

Previously tried on my Samsung unit and it is not working.

because I am thinking want to force it reinstall the firmware due to sometimes my unit will hang when power on from standby...manatau cannot work.
