hmm.gif I plan to MNP from hotlink to U28 tomorrow, with certain reason prefer U28 than power prepaid

after a month use, then I will strict away deposit half year monthly fees to the U28 bill
*
what is that reason? hmm.gif

I switched from prepaid UMI28 to U28 last Monday. Before tethering on Tuesday night, the data usage was 0.08GB. After tethering for one hour (just surfing using laptop e.g. Malaysiakini kind of websites, NO video/youtube/music streaming), found out the data usage was 0.38GB... ate away 300MB !!!

How does umobile calculate data usage?
*
I think your laptop is downloading Windows 10 update file.
Never tether if you don't know how to control your laptop data usage.

Umobile calculate data usage per what you use.

hmm.gif open a same website via mobile phone and PC, it have huge different in data usage.

anyway one hour of web surfing consume 300MB is quite a lot.

Seem like umobile consume data fast
*
Consume data fast means umobile is very high speed internet.

Maybe website keep on downloading flash?

hi all! one question guys! Let say if i reload RM30 for 1 month validity,
What if,
(Monthly validity expired) Can i still able to buy umi plan for internet or maybe free calls?
Because last time even my plan's validity expired i was still able to buy internet plans (Hotlink), but they disabled it recently.
If not, what if
(Monthly validity one day or few days before expired) i buy umi plan 30, i would get 30 mins all-net free calls right? So i could get extra internet + free calls for another 30 days. Here is the question, but will it expires along with the plan's validity? Which means, if i buy umi 30 on 30th June but my plan will be expired in 1 July, can i still use my internet and free calls on 1 July onward? or i need to reload to access again?
*
I think UMI die with validity

How long it take to port?

Any charges?

In order to get free call to umobile-umobile, we must finish the 30 min call first (to all network)? That is the way for postpaid.
*
I go to umobile centre. Take a few minutes to port. But the real porting take around 24 hours.
After that you get 50cents value + 10 day validity + 200mb.

We dun have free calls if U dun subscribe to UMI. Call to Other network use rm30 credit which translate to 300minutes.

anyone here still using UMI28? The one with free 100 mins of calls to all network and 1GB of data?

question is once you switch to the new Power Prepaid to get the free 1gb, can you still maintain using UMI28 with all the same benefits as above?

Thanks
*
Weird question. Since u using umi28, means u only need 1gb data. Means u dun need umi28.

As mentioned, apart from the 1GB data, UMI28 has 100 mins of bundled calls. There's also the off-peak YouTube that comes with all UMI subscriptions.
*
What is 100minutes of UMI compared to 300minutes of bundle call with power prepaid?

Hi All,

I ported to umobile postpaid, U28 from Maxis on July 28th.

Bill came at 1st August, RM 46.80.

How come so expensive? I thought RM 28 + GST should not be more than RM 30 right?
*
Read back a few pages and you will understand.

Also this is called billshock.

QUOTE(CnY Garage @ Aug 5 2015, 10:10 AM)
hmm, i wouldn't call that a bill shock because the RM 10 stamp duty is very common for all postpaid subscribers including digi maxis celcom, and also lots other transactions like motor insurance, of course 6% gst wouldn't be surprise.

and umobile do charge 1 month advance during registration, so that's clearly explained as well, so the first month charge is the PRO rated access fee, if anything wrong with that, u may attach it and email to customer.service@u.com.my to complain and high possibility to waive it.

what i do call bill shock like suddenly Rm 100 charge for unknown SMS (RM 4 per sms , any 1 here kena before should understand me well) tongue.gif
unknown data usage charge
unknown charge without explanation even calling their customer service.

just attach ur IC copy , and request them to cancel the itemized bill and provide them a valid email address for E billing
send to
customer.service@u.com.my

at this moment, dealer /customer no longer available to modify the itemized bill like before cry.gif
*
Haha....yeah that is real billshock.

But to our forumer, he also shocked with the bill. Thus, you can call it billshock too. As for prepaid, you know ler..

does the U28 3GB offer has contract? and is it if i ask for e-billing they will deduct rm3? means rm25 only?
*
No contract.
Of course no la. If no ebilling, they will add RM3 into your bill.

QUOTE(annoymous1234 @ Aug 6 2015, 01:19 AM)
let me get this straight, If I reload RM30, i can get free internet right? means if i keep reloading rm30 just to stay active, eventually I will accumulate up the credit into rm100++ in my account (since the money is not being use to deduct internet fees), am i correct?
*
You are correct.

QUOTE(JayChouYEE @ Aug 6 2015, 02:07 AM)
you can use the credit to make the call
some of the people 1gb tak cukup
so they will use the credit for buy more quota

if you don't make call and buy more quota
then you will become rich in you umobile credit rclxms.gif
*
I hope to accumulate RM360 in one year time....haha

Collect so much credit for what? You can't sell it off to anyone else....

Unless you plan to convert to U28 and use it, but even then some say will burn, others say max RM30 or so will carry over.
*
Well because I can I supposed....lol

Also your idea not bad. Convert to u28 got free phone line for almost 1 year.

Mean any remaining balance from this month cannot carry over to next month? Mean once you reloaded RM30 and awarded 1Gb data for the month then you must utilize all RM30 else will be forfeited?
*
No la. Can carry over for life in prepaid.

He said cannot carry over to Postpaid. But he could be wrong.

Today called customer service, confirmed two things.

1. e-billing with itemized - waived RM3 (confirmed with two of my friends bills)
2. can just disable voice mail but with missed call notification enabled. (tested from my phone)

information from lowyat forum thread told the wrong information, just here to share my findings.

1. e-billing with itemized, they still charge RM3 > wrong
2. voice mail disable will also disable missed call notification > wrong
*
no one say ebilling with itemize charge RM3. you might need to reread.
