Happy Birthday Robin Van Persie!
![]() ![]() QUOTE Manchester United striker Robin van Persie celebrated his 30th birthday on Tuesday, and even the club chef was quick to embrace the festive spirit. United tweeted a picture of a cake made by the club chef for Van Persie, saying 'Happy Birthday' in Dutch. Earlier, the club also shared a poster of 'RVP' in honour of their top scorer last season turning 30. Van Persie scored 31 goals for United last season following his move from Arsenal. |

QUOTE(konichiwawa @ Aug 9 2013, 08:05 AM) While Saha is a really good player but unfortunately his Man Utd career was hit by injuries, I think sometimes fans use the term "legend" way too loosely. Agreed. Legendary should be reserved for players who leaves a fond memory for the fans, for example, Giggs, Scholes, Ronaldo, Beckham, Cantona, Hughes or even Ole or the great Dane. Saha's playing career for us is something similar to Michael Owen. Anyone remember Henrik Larsson? Our short term loan wonder striker |

I like how Moyes changed his fashion style at United. Previously always in tracksuit at Everton, now its suit and tie.
Its a friendly. Relax. In Moyes we trust. |

QUOTE(Yuka Yuka @ Aug 10 2013, 03:43 PM) It's not a friendly, it's a testimonial. You don't lose a testimonial match. In front of your own fans too. You don't lose a testimonial match?EDIT: what i'm saying is that united fans have reason to be worried, so for people to be brushing off all these poor friendly performances is really mind-boggling. If the score is shit, no problem. Problem is the performance is shit too and the supporters see it 1) Gary Neville's Testimonial against Juve: United lost 2-1 at home. 2) Ryan Giggs's Testimonial against Celtic: United lost 4-3 at home. 3) Bryan Robson's Testimonial against Celtic: United lost 3-1 at home. And you were saying? I don't expect every supporter to back Moyes, there will be some butthurt or bashers which is pretty normal. What I cannot stand is, fans turning their backs on the manager when his very first competitive match only starts tonight? Some may disagree that a friendly should be won or whatsoever. Of course it is important for us to win friendlies, but whatever the outcome, just accept it like a man and treat it as a stepping stone in a new United era. Moyes is merely trying out tactics and formations that may suit us so I am not so worried of the outcomes of testimonials and friendlies because at the end of the day, Moyes is SAF's choice. You don't expect miracles or instant impact like what Chelsea fanboys brag about Mourinho during his first season at SB. It's true that Moyes is not 'attractive' enough for some players, but it does matter. Give him time to build a reputation and stop bashing. QUOTE(Yuka Yuka @ Aug 11 2013, 02:22 AM) context bai... context... What a retard. Are you implying that we lost the Testimonial on purpose? Of course the main objective is to honor Rio, but as you've said: You don't lose a Testimonial. But the fact is, we've lost some in the record and it was under SAF when that happened. So basically you do not have the substantial facts to back you up before mocking others when you yourself look like a stupid fool instead? you don't lose a testimonial match as in you don't answer 1 + 1 = ? wrongly. of course sometimes you have brain farts and you answer wrongly, but that doesn't mean it's acceptable to answer anything else but 2. basically what i meant was you don't purposely lose a testimonial match. you will want to win it. understand ke bai Instead of being an imbecile and assuming that we lost the game on purpose, why not take a positive side it gave the younger players more run out time? Surely you'll say that : 'you'll want to win it' but Sevilla played better, so what are you going to do? Cry? Sulk? And based on your implication that United were playing to lose that game, I believe you are not a fan because a real fan will not have implications that the team's motive is to lose Rio's Testimonial. And yes as proven, United have lost a couple for Testimonials at home too, so your point of, not supposed to lose point is invalid. Faham ke bai? |

QUOTE(Yuka Yuka @ Aug 11 2013, 02:31 PM) sigh. you're taking things out of context which is really frustrating. Look at my first post, then your reply, and then i'm telling you Moyes WANTED to win this testimonial and STILL lost it. It is only ONE PAGE back, so it does not really require a lot of effort. Funny how you implied it : you don't want to lose a testimonial especially in front of your own fans but the truth is, its not like it never happened before. Just that people like you choose to bash Moyes because he is new? Interesting enough that United lost THREE testimonials at home, but why didnt you say anything back then? Yeah SAF wanted to win those but he lost them.. so what are you trying to achieve here? You should really learn how to understand what people are trying to say before you fire off curses and insults. It really makes you look very stupid. Especially if you went through all the effort checking my posting history, my my my... One that does not have facts backing that statements can merely make up assumptions and utter BS. One minute you say you dont purposely lose a testimonial, the other minute you talk something else. God save your poor brain. |

QUOTE(Yuka Yuka @ Aug 11 2013, 02:47 PM) I didn't say anything back then because I either 1) did not give a shit or 2) did not watch the match That's why I've said that hater's are gonna hate. There is no such things as a perfect manager. Given that fact that Moyes has inherited the champions of England, the expectations are high but knowing that it requires more than just results to please the fans and neutral perspectives as well. so what if it has happened before ya illah it only means man utd have been poor more than once and if you're trying to imply that Moyes is very much like SAF, it would serve you well to keep in mind that SAF took 5 years to win something. Can MU afford Moyes 5 years to win something? I don't think so. dire financial circumstances would dictate that he be forced out the door in 2 seasons of poor showing I trust Moyes. I believe he is the right man for the job. You have no right to judge Moyes based on the pre-season results because it is unjust. At the end of the day, SAF chose Moyes as his successor, not Jose or Carlo. It's Moyes. When Fergie took over the club, it is merely an under performing team which is why it took 5 years for him to win his first silverware. Moyes is different, I believe he can win the title this season but even if he does not, that does not take away the fact that Moyes is the man capable of replacing SAF. Many of you are not fond of the changes at United, which is pretty normal. The most importantly is that the support is there, believe and trust that the new era of United has just begun. So instead of whining and complaining like a child without a lollipop, I'd suggest that all United fans should back Moyes otherwise, City's thread is down there. Join them instead because they have many 'stellar' signings as some expects from United this season. |

QUOTE(alowie @ Aug 11 2013, 05:13 PM) who say you can't? I did not imply anything about that, obviously you can, I didn't ask you to be quiet etc what I was saying is don't lose confidence on Moyes just because all of the fuss like that. Let's see.. How about you read properly before butting in? please do comprehend well first before bashing someone, he/she didn't imply anything about United were playing to lose that game. take your time a while to try to understand the post as a whole first. what I can't understand is the timing of the testimonial game, why were they so stupid to arrange a testimonial game just 2 days before community shield, it is almost as stupid as the arrangement for Neville testimonial game days before UCL final against Barcelona. here the season finally starts tonight, even though I'm really disappointed on how the pre-season matches went on, at least I saw a positive thing that Lingaard Januzaj and Zaha are bright prospect for the squad, especially Januzaj. I'm all behind Moyes, but still be realistic, waiting for several years first, if it won't work out than it doesn't and it will be time to move on. I still remember all the hype about Martin O'Neill would be the perfect replacement for SAF back then, imagine how people ate their own words. Trust and support are not handouts, they are earned. He did mentioned about losing a testimonial at home should not happen, but it did, thrice? So yeah he did say that: 'you don't play to lose', which sums up a conclusion that we sent out a team to lose? Do you get it now? Or if you want to argue more, give me your points. I'm open to your opinions now. This is not the first time you tick me off This post has been edited by andrewtho: Aug 11 2013, 05:55 PM |

QUOTE(alowie @ Aug 11 2013, 06:22 PM) Yes, you do go to league match to win, but you lose sometime, does it mean it is okay for you to go to another league match and getting beaten again? the fact that the lads defeated in testimonial matches before didn't make it okay to get another loss again. at least that is what was shown in the face of Moyes and Rio looking United got beaten. And btw he said you don't play to lose means Moyes wanted to win the testimonial match badly but suffered a loss, it didn't mean Moyes sent out a team to lose as your brain chewed it. Yes, I didn't bother to respond to you again last time because of your level of ignorance. I see it hasn't changed since then. I did not say that it's alright to lose, did I? 'You don't lose a testimonial' equivalents to YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO LOSE A TESTIMONIAL. They lost, so what? Why make it a big fuss? Can't you just accept a result like a man? If testimonials are meant to be won, why are there losers in the first place? These games are honorable games, not competitive games. The result is not very important because you cannot judge a team's play based on a testimonial result goddamnit. My level of ignorance to people like you is very high because people like you are glory hunters who cannot accept defeat like a man. Win = happy. Lose = whine and sulk and complain like a baby. If you've been supporting United for the past 10 years or so, you would know when to be humble and when to be proud. For moments like these, it's a whole new era of United and going through a transition period. So suck it up. |

QUOTE(alowie @ Aug 11 2013, 08:45 PM) Hi kid, I have been supporting Inter and United for 20+ years, I know how to support the team on its ups and down. And I know how winners should take a defeat, not with chill and relax like ur comment. I didnt whine about the loss and ask for anyone's head, did I? I complaint about how you mistook Yuka's comment in the first place. Ok now I'll make use of ignore button. Based on your comments, you sounded pretty emotional. Feeling uptight now? Well, if you have been supporting for over 20 years, you should know how to accept defeat and instead of feeling so critical over a testimonial, take a lighter side of it. And you have no rights to call one a kid yeah. Your comments are not very 'matured' as well, so it's like a pot calling a kettle black. Your sense of ideology somehow contradicts your view, so don't bother calling yourself an adult because your level of maturity shows. Heck, I don't even rate you as one. Your comments here are a mere eyesore to me. Okay, I shall not stoop down to your level. By all means, I would appreciate that you ignore my comments because your replies are irrelevant at most cases. Good day to you. And moving on, Valencia feels comfortable with #25 instead of #7 probably due to the pressure of wearing the iconic number. All the best Anto! |

Today's story.. featuring our boy wonder.
A teenage starlet stepping out with the best of them - but who is Adnan Januzaj? ![]() QUOTE Adnan Januzaj came off the bench at Wembley for his first-team debut and displayed the silky touch and intelligent link play that has so enthused United fans. He continued his impressive summer after appearing in all five of United’s tour matches in the Far East and starring in Rio Ferdinand’s testimonial last Friday. So, just who is Adnan Januzaj? He’s an 18-year-old Belgian who signed for United from Anderlecht two years ago when he was 16. United are reported to have paid nearly £300,000 for him and he is one of the highest-earning youngsters at Old Trafford. What’s his background? He was born in Brussels of Albanian heritage. He came to the attention of Anderlecht after displaying impressive skills for home-town team FC Brussels and signed for them in 2005. What kind of player is he? He’s a creative midfielder, technically gifted and comfortable on the ball, so he’s capable of operating in a number of positions. He has pulled the strings for the United youth sides in an advanced midfield role and has also made an impact on the flanks. He’s pretty handy at dead ball situations, too. It’s no wonder some fans have already likened him to a young David Beckham (albeit left-footed). Didn’t Ferguson rate him? The former United manager brought Januzaj to wider public attention at the end of last season by hailing him as one of United’s brightest youth prospects. ‘Adnan is a beautifully balanced player,’ said Sir Alex. ‘He has good balance, good acceleration and is a very good technical player.’ Ferguson put him on the substitutes’ bench for his final match in charge of United, at West Bromwich Albion. Moyes has played him consistently. Is that a sign he feels the same? Quite. After his first match as United manager against Singha All Star XI, Moyes said of the Belgian: ‘I thought he was a plus for us. It’s always good when you give a young player a chance and he shows up, and I thought he did tonight. ‘The more he plays like that, the more opportunities he’s liable to get. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...an-Januzaj.html |
