ok so this morning i went to the HTC Service Centre in Time Square and asked for a replacement unit because of the manufacturing defect on my unit..they agreed but they said they have to take the faulty phone to brightstar HQ, let them examine and get stock from them..so i have to wait for a week for a new set..but they said the can't do anything cause they don't have stock..so i have no choice but to wait for another week sad.gif seeing everyone complain about their service, i really doubt that they can get back to me in one week lol...now i'm afraid that what if the new set is also faulty? maybe another gap or the purple tint in camera? if that really happens than i have to wait for another week cry.gif really hope things go my way..

security-off
it switches off all safelocks set by htc, letting you change the phone's ROM/Firmware/Radio/CID etc etc...
so, you can make it look like you have never tampered with the phone while you have unlocked the bootloader and rooted...

normal users don't need s-off because by root and unlocking bootloader we can flash ROMs and recoveries and  .zips...

those who are worried about warranty, by unlocking bootloader HTC already has our IMEI number, so it won't matter if we s-off to make it look like nothing has happened, it's just one click away from HTC's servers to check if they want to...
*
so if s-off ady want to send back warranty have to s-on again?

Hi Guys,

I collected my phone this evening for camera replacement due to purple tint issue. Alhamdulillah the phone looks as per normal as i left before. They did not even reset my phone. Huhu. Hope they did not do anything to my fb account and other stuffs. Before sent i have already reset my phone due to i have root my phone.

So far the camera issue is no more. One week left my phone there. Hopefully this will be my last trip to HTC servis center. Happy with my phone now. smile.gif

Hey guys, just asking how about the battery performances? Planning to get one, *_*
*
battery is actually not bad for this phone..can get through full day with moderate use..but i feel that it depends on what phone u were previously using..if u're coming from a note 2 u will feel that battery is a lot worst, but if ur previous phone have really bad battery life(like me), u'll have no problem with the battery life smile.gif

ok guys...so i went to time square to collect my replacement unit..i expected it to be a smooth and easy process, but once again its a disappointing and frustrating process..
when i went into their service centres, there were 3 guys already at the counter trying to get their 3,4 htc ones replace..and when i was standing there waiting for my turn, one of the staff opened a new sealed set for them for replacement, but i think the unit have gap issue so the 3 guys rejected it..and the staff kept the unit in their storeroom...so when it was my turn, i expected the staff to give me a completely new set, but guess what? they just gave me the phone with the htc plastic still on it..the first thing that came into my mind was they tried to gave me the unit that the previous 3 guys rejected..i examined the phone and there was gap on the top and bottom of the unit, and there were even scratches on the side of the aluminium..so i immediately rejected that unit..so the staff went to the back and brought me another unit..this unit doesnt even have the plastic wrapper..i examined the phone and this unit was perfect, no gaps what so ever..but it has the tint issue in camera..so i again rejected that unit..so at the end another staff called me into a small room and gave me a completely sealed unit..i was quite happy at first but when i examine the phone, there was a very small gap on the top and bottom, it was better than the previous unit but it also have some rough edges on the sides..i wanted another replacement but they said they dont have stocks ady..have to wait till next week..so in the end i was like 'fxck it, i'ΔΊΔΊ just take the damn phone'..so i took the replacement and now i realized that the power button is not flushed and it's abit lifted on one side..aduiii..why is it so hard to get a good unit? So far my encounter with htc have been really frustratingm i think this is probably the last time I'm buying a htc phone..

i'd recommend you to just use a full casing like poetic atmosphere and totally forget about the gap. just take it if the gap is super small. cool2.gif

yup i am using a poetic atmosphere case..I'm just done with all these BS, decided to just live with it..

ok guys, i'm not sure if this is a defect on my new replacement unit or it's normal, but when i try to take picture of my notes, the camera have wavy black lines moving across the screen(like there's a moving fan on top)..i think it only happens when i take picture of white color objects(paper, wall etc)

Are you using fluorescent lights? Can you try again with natural light not artificial light?

Could be interference between video framerate and the AC cycles with artificial light. Like if you took a photo of an old CRT one might see the scanlines. Usually happens with high ISO as the AC cycles would mean periodic dimming of the lights.

ya when i first encounter the problem it was under fluorescent light..is it normal? i check using my friends huawei phone but his phone doesnt have this problem..

Its not "normal" in the sense that it isn't designed to function that way. But IMHO it probably isn't a hardware problem. More of a mixture of conditions, both physical and software that came together to create that. I've personally seen this issue with my old SGS3 under very specific lighting conditions, and then only once with a certain particular firmware and even then only with the stock camera app from Samsung. Your friend's phone does not have this very specific combination.

May I ask does it ALWAYS happen under this particular light? What about other lights in the house? How about daytime under indirect sunlight from a window? How about if you use another camera software from the app store? Is this a one time event, or anytime you turn on the camera it occurs?

Your mileage may vary. I have not experienced this with my HTC One before.
*
Does ur HO have this issue if under fluorescent light?
Ya I tried with other conditions but it seems fine..I will try more with other conditions and see if the problem exist..I tried taking scenaries outside the house(under the sun) and it doesn't have this issue..I haven't tried with another app bit I'll surely try tomorrow..

Try taking the pictures under "tungsten" source light.

ya under normal light it's fine..the problem only exists when it's under fluorescent light..but i tried my friend's S3 and Huawei phone and both are fine, don't have any wavy lines..when i tried another friend's I5, sometimes the lines are there but sometimes it's not..so i still don't think this is normal, since previous users says that they doesn't encounter this problem with their HO even under fluorescent light...

Is there any users with silver unit that doesn't have gaps at all?? I think that it's a serious manufacturing defect, those who doesn't have gaps with the silver color model please report back, and remember to examine the phone closely..thanks..
