character server transfer will be available few weeks after launch and you have to pay a small fee for it. (Pay using real money, not gils.)

World Transfer Service
This is an optional paid service that allows characters from active service accounts for FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn to be transferred to a World of your chooosing.*1

Characters may transfer items, gil*2, and retainers to their destination World. However, linkshells, free companies, and friend lists cannot be transferred.

*1 Due to fluctuations in World populations, certain Worlds may not be available for transfer.
*2 Because transferred characters may influence the economy of their destination World, a limit has been placed on the amount of gil that can be transferred.

its a freaking OB, of course there'll be a possible server wipe. and also every other game out there do have server wipe on all CB/OB prior to OR. 
these player butthurt the 48 hrs they spent. lol.
