LOL...yes RV is not the problem.But a few years down the road when u want to sell the car to 2nd hand car dealer, the dealer oso dont wanna buy a Ford from you .

So its not about RV already.Even u throw at dealer cheap price oso dealer dont wanna take. Cuz the chances of dealer reselling the Ford is very very low.

if u want a fun car, then civic and focus are in this category. cerato definitely out.

focus handling, technology specs should be better than civic.
how about peugeot408 turbo? powerful and also good in conering, can be considered, but just reliable issue only.

Pros
1. Better resale value
2. Easier to locate spareparts
3. More comfortable backseats and more spacious for passengers
4. Smooth 5-speed auto

Cons
1. Lousy interior quality
2. When new sure nice to drive, after 3 years all the funny cicak noise sure come out ( judging from experience, i myself a honda owner before as well, many of my fellow honda friends also said so )
3. Handling definitely won't match focus, there's a reason why focus is the best car in class to drive.
4. Less powerful than the focus.
5. NVH definitely lose to focus, and with the 5-speed auto highway drive also will drink morefuel compared to focus.
6. Very expensive for what it offers, really kosong compared to focus
7. Spareparts around the same price if u go to SC, don't compare outside service because there's no warranty for the parts u purchase and most definitely can get replica easily.
8. Ugly and a lot of ah beng like honda and mod it

Focus

Pros.
1. Class leading NVH
2. Really fun to drive, just drive it around few corners then u will understand.
3. Powerful 2.0 N/A engine and fast changing gb once it's up to speed.
4. Free 3 years service
5. A lot of safety features for the money ( Honda lose kow kow on this alone, safety is very important in a new car )
6. Car feels really solid and stable ( the civic definitely cannot give you this feel, this is where the word "continental feel" comes in )
7. Looks fresh and sharp especially with the red colour
8. Seldom see ah beng focus driver which mod their car like ricer

Cons.
1. Lousier resale value? Not sure about this, just look at fiesta, the resaule value is not that bad.
2. Less comfortable at the back and less legroom as well.
3. Slightly jerky during stop start traffic ( characteristic of DSG gb, VW also has this issue, if your leg can control it properly then it's going to be quite smooth )
4. Harder to locate spareparts for sure, but this might change since there's quite a lot more focus on the road compared to the old one.

Conclusion.

1. If driving is your number one priority - focus wins
2. Backseat comfort and space - Honda wins
3. Value for money - focus for sure, free 3 years service and lotsa gadgets+safety features

As for me, i love driving and backseat comfort is not my number one priority, so the focus wins hands down on this. Myself driving the mk2.5 focus tdci, smile on my face everytime i drive it.

Better u follow ur dad suggestion, buy a civic.

5. Judging from family experience, change honda to a honda, it's a realiable car. No cicak noice like a proton (maybe well maintain cars).
6. Handling still one of the best in class.
7. FC also one of the best in class. Can check reviews or fuelly.com
8. Not much issue to get sparepart or claim warranty.
9. Well spec, still 5 stars NCAP rating car.
10. Easy to mod. Many accessories dealers.

There is a reason why it is the best selling C-segment sedan here in Msia. u cant go wrong with it.

I had a chance to look at the Cerato over the weekend, didn't test drive the car unfortunately.

1st impressions

- High quality interior. Lots of soft touch materials everywhere. The rear doors were still using hard plastics for the panels but the front and dashboard area is well covered. Although the dashboard design looks better for the Civic because of the 2 tier look, but the quality belongs to the Cerato easily.

- Continental like design and features. Again, if you look at the doors, the seals, the interior and positioning. Even the doors feels like it's got some weight to it, compared to the Civic - which is lighter.

- Feature loaded. Again, it scores high both in terms of safety and gadgets. It practically has everything that you will need in a car. The 1.6 could do with a large capacitive touch-screen and HID and it would be perfect. The 2.0 could just use a larger touch-screen and it would be complete. As far as value goes, this is as good as it gets.

- Boot space. It's big and it's got fold down rear seats (New Civic does not have 60:40 split folding seats). Again, the boot looks bigger compared to the new Civic

- Rear lamps. The rear LED lights are gorgeous. Seriously!

This car definitely has got what it takes to best the Japanese in terms of kit and interior quality. If what you need is a car that gets you from A to B and back with no frills, this is definitely a good choice.

u mean d-segment?

i was facing the same issue when buying my car recently.RV,ride quality,performance,comfort,fuel efficiency(very important),service interval,after sales are the factors which influenced my decision.

finally i decided to buy the new civic 2.0s after considering all the factors above.i havent regret the decision until now.i save a lot on FC,ownership cost(maintenance cost is low every 10k),comfort,reliability and also gaya mah..girls look higher on me now than before lulz (this is minor factor)

ride quality is fine on civic, just not the performance since this car is tuned for comfort.but u can switch to S mode to get sports performance which i rarely do....

anyway its TS choice...my relatives who writes the blog has been very anti to ford since his last awful experience..lolz..i said to him maybe the new focus is better..he simply replied that it is still ford,still problematic..

so TS,let us know your decision.

TS,u have to live with the consequences that comes on any cars that u chose..think very hard on what is your most important criteria in getting a brand new car n stick with that..there's always opportunity-costs on any choice u make..enjoy some,loosing on something else..yes,u may make mistake,but that makes us human..if u can accept that,u will have a peace of mind on anything u chose
