i just bought a focus titanium+. received it on 1st july and my parents bought the new civic which they received end of june. last week i go back to my hometown and got the chance to drive the new civic. all i can say, my decision to buy the focus is justified.
IMO, things that i think civic is superior to focus are:
1-cabin space. this criteria is common in japanese car.
2-navigation system. my parent bought the 2.0navi which came with gps system. focus doesn't have this but you still can buy the gps and placed it in your car.
3-seat are covered by black leather while focus are in beige colour. black is obviously easy to maintain.
4-radio antenna for civic in well hidden while for focus, it stick out like a sore thumb.
5-paddle shift for civic is easier to handle as compared to focus which uses the + and - button on the gear knob
however, you need to know that the civic is too simple for its price. and the simplistic design make the interior of the car look very empty.. the dashboard is huge but got nothing on it. cheap hard plastic as compared to handsomely fitted focus dashboard.
the spacecraft like meter in civic is something of the past (how many years already with the same design??). although focus employ the normal supervision cluster, the colour combination make it look modern.
as owner of ford focus, the only thing that i really really really envy of civic is on the comfort of back passenger. for focus, if the front passenger is more than 170cm in height, then the back passenger will suffer. legroom is small and the upright seating position takes time to get used too.
for me, i am only 165cm and the legroom is ok for me. once adjusted, i still have around 7inch of space between by knee and the front passenger seat.
Bro... Thanks for the input... U were driving long distance i assume with civic... How the car when crusing in high speed? Stable, nice, good nvh as compare to the focus?IMO, things that i think civic is superior to focus are:
