I am planing to get my first mechanical keyboard, thinking of going for a numberless layout. Could you guys please recommend me one? Prefer no backlit and customizable (replace key caps?) budget around rm500
*
Budget 500, no need backlit?

Then filco it is. But currently dey are out of stock in Malaysia, need wait some times.

hello expert here, since yesterday i have posted to ask for the "cheapest but good" mechanical keyboard... i have down my search into Ducky and Roswill...

I have question here, how does the ducky zero/zero shine compare to the roswill RK9000? both seems like in a same price range but the ducky logo seems fancier and one more thing is that i can add another rm100 for a zero shine which i can play games in my dark room. any idea and suggestion regarding this 2 keyboard?

P/S: if not mistaken, i have see HeavyArm selling roswill keyboard at rm269... with a rebate of rm50.. which i assume to final price to be at rm219.

I need decision of getting either one of this... any helps?
*
We ppl here will recommend rosewill over zero, call us stereotyping or whatever you wish to. The MIT vs MIC part also skewed us towards rosewill.

Rosewill is a proven nice board, almost a clone to the legendary filco. With 3years warranty and a price of 269, nothing can go wrong with it.

Ducky zero on the other hands are an entry level board to ducky range.

If you want a backlit board, iinm, some garage sales seller is selling cm trigger at rm360++, which we should recommend over zero shine.

Also, I think the rm269 is net price, the rm50 discount is no longer applicable.

Thanks on the advice...i think i will make my final decision on the rosewill and if i want to be slightly fancy with it... maybe some keycap replacement will do.. THANKS guy : )

but back performance question.... in this mkb club, most of you guys using which switches? heard that the red is good and its actually rare ... but luckily enuf rosewill rk9000 have that red switch available smile.gif any opinion?
*
You must had dug out some old thread to think that red is rare... sweat.gif

Nowadays only a few brands DON'T HAVE boards of red switch...

Regarding switches selecting, it is best to try it out yourself first. If really can't,then try ask yourself if you would prefer it to be noisy or silent less noisy? Tactile (bumpy) or linear (smooth)? Stiff or soft?

is noopoo 87 a good board? black switch selling for only 320rmb on taobao. can the key caps easily replaced (the layout and size...)
*
I don't recall it is that cheap. hmm.gif

But Noppoo 87 is oemed by HPE, which is also making clone keyboad of filco, so the dimension and customisation of filco should fully compatible with it.

Though, an old quote saying that "you get what you pay for", don't expect it to have top notch built like filco did. And personally, for budget keyboard, I am more inclined toward brands like PLUM/keycool.

My personal preference of china brands are

PLUM/keycool, Noppoo/HPE, PLU

1.86 vs 1.75, seems reasonable. Agents still need to earn some commission for profit one.

the conversion on net usually not reliable one.
because bank charges higher.  sweat.gif

But at least 1.86 with 1.75, the different is not unreasonable compared to the old rate.

But ultimately, terima kasih BN, biar hilang nilai RM, jangan hilang BN!!! whistling.gif

If you guys think that paying 200-300$ USD for a keyboard is mad, look at this auction.
Tsangan, a moderator in GH, has finally open an auction to sell off some of his collection, I'm sure that's just some, he should have more hidden somewhere.

I expect at least 5-6 keycap goes more than 200$ each, with one possible to reach 400$.

Hmmm, hmm.gif

The set actually come with 3 spacebars?

But dey ignored the 7X spacebar which is very popular for custom boards. Owai, ppl with custom board don't resolve with such low cost keycaps.

according to rosewill website is like the inner red color is made of metal.. like the backbone is metal lo.. dunno true or not.. i see u guys suggest rosewill instead of ducky zero because of MIT and MIC, i tot ducky is MIT? MIT not better?
*
Ducky having 2 oems currently, one for normal ducky (9000 series) and another for zero series (2000 series).

The former MIT and the latter mic.

Regarding rosewill, it is MIT too iinm.

Ducky Zero vs RK-9000
- take RK-9000

RK-9000 vs RK-9100
-take RK-9000 (RK-9100 has non-standard layout)

Ducky Zero Shine VS RK-9000
- take RK-9000 if backlit is optional
- take Ducky Zero Shine if backlit is must
*
This!!!!

Just that if I need backlit, I may opt for other cheaper china boards or settle with cm trigger.
