NOTE 3 will come in 4 options?  Why Samsung had to make it so complicate for users. Won't such a strategy will increase their cost?

BTW ... for guys who are in tech support, or just enjoy this kind of stuff:

http://www.reddit.com/r/Nexus7/comments/1h...able_usb_drive/
I realize this may or may not be possible but I figured I'd ask. I know that tablets can be used as mass storage devices when plugged in to a PC via USB. I also know that it's quite easy to make a USB thumb drive bootable. What I'd like to know is if there is a way to setup the tablet's storage in a way that will make it bootable if it was plugged in via USB at startup. I'm not asking about booting in to android on a PC, I would have a different os on the volume and use that for PC booting. Yes I could just use a USB drive, but I want to know if this is possible.

ANSWER:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...kery.drivedroid

DriveDroid allows you to boot your PC from ISO/IMG files stored on your phone. This is ideal for trying Linux distributions or always having a rescue-system on the go... without the need to burn different CDs or USB pendrives. The paid version of DriveDroid does not include ads and helps the developer.

DriveDroid also includes a convenient download menu where you can download USB-images of a number of operating systems from your phone.

You can also create USB-images which allows you to have a blank USB-drive where you can store files in. Another possibility is to use tools on your PC to make a bootable USB-drive out of the blank image that DriveDroid created.

How do you make this work?
* Connect your phone to your PC using an USB cable
* Download an image file (.iso or .img) or create one
* Select the image file in DriveDroid to let your phone 'host' the file over USB
* (Re)start your PC and make sure the correct boot priority is set in the bios
* The image should now be booted on your PC

I get the part in regards to why ext2 saves more juice due to inexistence of safety features..much like cars with airbags cost more than the one without...bt i wonder is the risk worth the effort? If its just an increased in risk in terms of chances of bricking much like today..then ayam willing to do it..just put a reminder to change it back to ext4 when want to flash new rom..but if the risk involves is higher ie app needs reboot to properly installed pun boleh kena..then i shall shy shy awayla..lol..25% batt saving is worth the extra brain cell power to ponder i think

I suppose you could record some battery consumption data points before and after and make your research software do some gee whiz what-if modeling for you tongue.gif

UPDATE:
Anyway, it's just a FILE SYSTEM....your file will still exist whether it's FAT32 or NTFS.....only that NTFS provides a bit more checking that your file is not corrupt. But file systems have been around since computer storage began, so......

lol wow! first time see tablet takes bullet but it's possible  laugh.gif

I believe it hit the battery pack, so both the aluminum and the battery stopped the bullet. It's a 4100mAh battery, so it's quite large.

Luckily the lithium didn't catch fire either.

Spigen Snap Leather Case

Any trusted dealer in lowyat forum? i have been looking high and low for this. Mostly out of stock everywhere. sad.gif
*
Nice one. I'd still prefer for the snap out case to be a full bezel enclosure though. That would make it perfect.

A 5 inch screen size is my limit, any larger and i might as well just use my ipad mini,i have seen people saying that s4 features are better than the note2 but battery wise note2 takes it all the way,but you as a note2 user, how you find it?
*
Hi yes, asking in the Note 2 thread, a device 5.5" in size, yet you are saying you are constrained to 5" max. Well, as has been pointed out by some of the answers to you, the battery life is a killer on this device ie it kills EVERYTHING ELSE (except the larger 6" Huawei with 30% more battery).

I would take a presumption you are female from your username. A lot of women use the Note2, whether carried in the hand bag, clutched in the hand, or perhaps having it jut halfway out of the jeans pockets. Even if you're a guy, there's no problem as evidenced by the many male users here.

But if you want a max 5" device, then go for the many other 5" device choices.

thanks for the advice, but features wise s4 still has the ball as its newer,i can accept the features on the note2,so you guys recommend the note2?
*
Do be specific on what features, as antt00 said. Quite a number are rather gimmicky as evidenced by posts in the S4 thread, some can be useful depending on individual. For smoothness, Note 2 still holds its own vs S4, and the perception of smoothness is better on the Note 2.

If you want office productivity, the S-Pen is a real bonus since you can write your notes and email them.

Then just take the Note 2, since I think you can get it for around 1700 or less. Or if you want to wait the Note 3 should be here by end Sep, mid Oct probably.

yaya,i like that air view feature, does the note2 has it as well? i guess without the s pen the note2 losses some of its main features
*
See, the S-pen uses what is known as an Active Digitizer, meaning that it is the same type as used by Architects, CAD draftsmen, Digital Artists. This is what sets the Note family apart from ALL OTHER smartphones and featurephones out there. This allows you pinpoint accuracy in writing and drawing, and has pressure sensitivity to simulate thinner or thicker strokes.

As hooh888 pointed out, the others can only use the fat styli that are not accurate and I have tried a few myself on my other Android.

anime, file format, .mkv
cause tried both s4 w Mobile Suit Gundam UC ep6 , i found that, 9500 quite bengang.[delay 3secs for video motion...]
and 9505 don't have this thing smile.gif
Note 2, hates that sometimes got green line doh.gif

she say text makes her eye not feeling well tongue.gif
*
MXPlayer can play MKV nicely on the Note 2. But the MKV format is just a container. Depends on the codec it was encoded in, and you can download codec packs for different players. Don't know about the green line though.

No. Samsung also provided an alarm feature which will sound if you walk away holding the Note without the S-pen.

We can all be your part time boyfriends to teach you tongue.gif

Do you plan to get it at a Samsung outlet or somewhere else? Are you getting an SME set or parallel import?

I suggest you read posts 3 and 4 first to know the device and what to do when you get it. Then when you want to play with it some more, read post 5, 12, 13.

well i play anime nicely with stock video player though, by using this converter called vidcoder. helps me cut the file size by 90%, retain hd quality, and embed the subtitles on the video file itself.
