QUOTE(remonx @ Jul 18 2013, 05:04 PM) Yes this is the old classic standard procedures to root and flash. But most importantly do an efs backup right after u root your device. This is the 1st thing to do before you tend to flash to custom rom. oops sry...was bz packing up to go home..haha..i dun reli have any important data on my fon yet so juz gona skip tat backup step and straight go for root n flash... QUOTE(gin&tonic @ Jul 18 2013, 05:41 PM) Yes go ahead & get into the dark side. the dark side is strong with this one...

QUOTE(antt00 @ Jul 18 2013, 05:56 PM) Do not skip EFS backup. It has got nothing to do with your files. Its a backup of the efs partition that store your imei and other not so important stuff. If it got corrupted during rooting/flashing you will need to go back to samsung for warranty claim unless u got a backup. wut...it doesnt tel how to do efs backup maby u can send me the link to dl efs backup software? thanks..lucky i din start yet..haha

QUOTE(gin&tonic @ Jul 20 2013, 11:55 AM) You need to backup backup EFS. This rom does not allow changing modems to older ones. i used the efs backup software in post 7 (the double click bat file to backup and restore one) QUOTE(Xirality @ Jul 20 2013, 12:11 PM) see properly first bro. QUOTE(joytest @ Jul 21 2013, 12:42 AM) Can you enlighten us by sharing a few common flashing methods? I know there are commercial flashers where you plug in the chip and it writes to it from some file. it all depends on the hardware..lets say the most basic raspberry pi board where the os is juz flashed onto a sd card then run it from there.. or u can use a lan wire connect the board and flash the bios.. other devices all depend on hardware and os used
