QUOTE(NightFelix @ Aug 24 2014, 07:42 PM) Thanks for quick respond. Yes. I got an old PC that running Old Intel Duo Core CPU. Recently my old Samsung 500GB HDD are getting error and ask me to backup or repair etc. So decided to get an cheap SSD to speed up the performance and swap the HDD as secondary storage. Any cheap 80GB or lower SSD to recommend me? I don't think I need 120GB as my 500GB can't even use reach 50GB Is for my parents browsing and surfing purposes. Try check lingloong's topic, I see he is still selling SSD at lower capacity there, must be old stock I think.

QUOTE(chocobo7779 @ Sep 10 2014, 07:10 PM) That's pretty nice, and I will give it a read later. BTW, OpenSUSE user spotted. I'm just a Linux Mint user... The penguins are here lol, have you activated the trim inside the cron.daily to do the job?

QUOTE(chocobo7779 @ Sep 11 2014, 11:43 AM) I don't have a SSD right now... which in case you have to run the penguin from it, this tutorial is the best to do auto trim depending the period you want it to run, either by daily, weekly or monthly. For openSUSE I am set to run daily, 15 mins after boot up. http://www.webupd8.org/2013/01/enable-trim...ate-drives.html

QUOTE(pakji @ Sep 13 2014, 12:48 PM) HDD IS STILL GOOD BUT VERY SLOW LOADING TAKE LONG TIME FOR GAME LOADING i not rich that why i bought 2x 1TB raid0 = game loading faster HDD suitable storage for MUSIC+MOVIES+ETC MORE like that i can buy HDD Big TB LIKE 4TB x 3 for storage Frankly I am got budget to buy more, for storage I'll go for SSHD 1TB and another 120 or 256GB SSD for OS, SSHD not fast as SSD but much faster than normal HDD 7200rpm. I don't play games, but love to keep stuffs in storage for weekend entertainment.

I am still giving my interest for kingston SSD despite their 'bait and switch' tactic to their early batches of SSDnow V300, I am looking forward to the Hyper X 3K for my next purchase or Hyper X Fury which is very reasonable price at RM250 for 120GB. Either one depending on my budget.

QUOTE(wildwestgoh @ Sep 30 2014, 08:19 AM) Why not Intel? Seems to be on the same league and performance, with 2 more years of warranty to boot, nice value. Definitely one of the top 3 priorities indeed.

For a budget and still need the speed of a SSD like me, I'll go for V300. For the price now at RM190 (120GB), the tag price is good if we are willing to forget about synchronous fiasco happened. Day to day usages comparing to HDD is like a king hehe.
