I think price is more/less the same, unless u are finding ssd brand that not available locally.
Maybe try searching some taiwan website find out what their online seller price  hmm.gif .

If price not much different then i will buy locally becos thinking of upgrading my rig.

After installing window 8.1 with my samsung evo 840 on my i7 inspiron 7000 series, my boot up is really unbeliveable 3seconds only.

If you read the previous post, EVO/840 can enable RAPID mode (RAM caching) to double the performance, it's consider as winner already.
*
Sorry noobe here, how 2 enable rapid.tqtq

If you search for reviews, most site will pointing it to Samsung 840 Evo for their price and performance. Thats why Im choosing it too. rclxms.gif

You can get the 250GB version around RM 580 now. Just my 2 cents! blush.gif

You just only bought your SSD isn't it? You try again once you fill up your SSD, see whether still can get 2-4 seconds or not whistling.gif

Btw, there are two methods people use to test boot speed, one is right after pressing the power button and one more is when the BIOS screen appears.
*
The 4 sec is until window but before the password, i myself also dont believe it.

Ya la, everything is the fastest when you just only installed the OS into the SSD. Like I said try to fill up your SSD first the  say again later, but hor I'm not exactly sure how the EVO would perform hmm.gif
*
I have install window, office, graphic driver some os, n few games it still boot at 4sec until window, believe or not up 2 you becos i am using one myself n as i have said earlier i also dont believe what i saw.

Nobody is doubting your claim, we all have achieved such boot time speeds also what brows.gif I'm using a Pro version and I remember having such speeds when I first installed the OS and some programs/etc but fast forward 7 months and the speeds drop quite a bit.
*
In fact i am not trying 2 show my boot up time but trying 2 tell those interested 2 buy 840 evo is worth it but u are like kiasu telling u even achieve that boot up time before, have u load other os, bla bla n even trying 2 show off u are using 840 evo pro. Who cares what u got n even trying 2 say down the road it will slow down, that everyone know, i am not here 2 argue i am here 2 paint the real picture n i have said many times i dont believe what i see about the boot up speed. For info 2 others only who might be keen on 840 evo.
