Q: Intel Core i5 3230M do slightly better than the i5 3337U in Gaming right?

yes , u may tongue.gif

3230M Vs 3337U
Battery Management: 3337U
Gaming (Casual) : 3337U
Gaming (Advance): 3230M
benchmark :3230M

overall 3230M

QUOTE(unidentify91 @ Jul 30 2013, 06:42 AM)
rclxms.gif thanks for the suggestions mr mudkipryan94  notworthy.gif
checked the dell's website and found out that their 14Rs are using Nvidia GT730M instead of GT625M, and checked out the laptops you suggested and made a comparison with their graphic cards, found out that the Inspiron 14R's GT 730M beats both 15R's 7730M (HD 7730M vs GT 730M) and HP Envy4's 8750M (HD 8750M vs GT 730M) on gaming fps.

I'm thinking of getting 14R with Linux OS since it's cheaper and the college that i attend let students download windows OS for free, will change to w8 if I can't coop with Ubuntu tongue.gif , gotta start learning some Linux stuff from now biggrin.gif

anyway, here's another problem  sweat.gif
There are two types of i5 processor for 14R on the site,
4th Gen i5-4200U processor + GT 740M + touch screen @ RM 1799; and
3rd Gen i5-3337U processor + GT 730M @ RM 1699

I don't think I would need touch screen for Linux, but the 4th Gen seems better than 3rd Gen, coz it's 4th sweat.gif that's my noob opinion anyway, I don't really understand what difference they both make rclxub.gif I don't think Linux really need the touch screen function tho  unsure.gif any sifu out there can help me with this?  sad.gif 4th gen or 3rd gen?
*
since say the wattage usage at both processors w efficiently, i would go for Hashwell, As u mentioned it, 4th Gen Core i5 4200U
coz my mom's fren bought her ASUS N57 w same processor w nVidia GT 750M GC but different price
and tested , the usage quite good as usual tongue.gif and about ubuntu, just for Java JDK n SDK developers choice only
4th Gen i5-4200U processor + GT 740M + touch screen @ RM 179

1. Any with good warranty and after sale service (I heard Asus have a very bad after sale service)
2. RM3.5k maximum
3. Must have a Full HD screen because I like to watch movies, gaming with medium settings - C.O.D: Black Ops 2, NFS Most Wanted 2012, light office.
4. Prefer 15", 13" and 14" is acceptable.

PS : Sorry if I'm asking too much.

Excuse me, want to tumpang other posts:
So will the Thinkpad T430/T430u and Thinkpad Edge 431, haswell upgrades be coming out in October this year too? What do you think?
It all sounds great ie. get a cheaper laptop and then upgrade the ram and ssd later. However, most resellers I spoke to do not offer this service. They claim it's hard to find ssd and it will void the warranty, so they are not willing to do it. Can recommend some shops or resellers in Digital Mall/Sunway Pyramid that will do this ssd upgrade service when you buy their notebooks? Or even if you don't buy their notebooks (eg. let's say you buy a Dell online)?
