thank you for replying nexus. this is my second time buying a laptop with my first being a toshiba. I've been using it for 5 years now, no problem software + hardware before this but lately eveything is starting to get faulty. My friend told me that Toshiba laptops are generally well known for their durability and quality.. based on your recommendations i'm thinking of getting the Lenovo y500. They're also well known for their durable yet plain build am i right?

Don't get me wrong but I love the 'plainliness' of the lenovo.. the crisp, simple no 'gimmick' design. Can't stand the exterior lighting etc on most gaming laptop whatsoever thanks again hehe

QUOTE(nexus2238 @ Jul 24 2013, 11:22 PM) Satellite L40-AS109Xb/G/W, i5-3337U + Nvidia GT740M@RM2199[Onkyo], 4GB, 750GB, 3 years local warranty; colors: Blue/gold/white Satellite L50-A100X/XW, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT740M@RM2199[Onkyo], 4GB, 750GB, W8SL; 3 years local warranty; colors:silver/white err ... 14" vs 15"? Joke aside, the L50 use the i5 M CPU, which is more powerful than the i5 ULV CPU in L40, but drain more power. Also the L50 keyboard has dedicated numpad key. Otherwise, both models are similar hihi xD so the i5 in the L50 is much powerful and the L50 also boasts a numpad. What makes the L40 being priced the same as the L50 then? portability factor only?
