wanna ask, u oll using low ohm or subohm, the mod will heat up very fast right

previously i using 2.5ohm.. then i changed to 1.6ohm.. the mod heat up faster compare 2.5ohm.. and the juice oso burn up faster

how  u oll overcome these heat up and juice burn faster issue?
*
Can't overcome lol. Lower ohm = more heat = more vapor... so it should be hotter and use juice faster... also battery drain lot faster too

you should get 32 awg if you want smaller wire. 28 awg is thicker than 30 awg
*
For micro 28 AWG sounds right... 30 AWG also can, just that you need to go for 1/16 inch drill bit, which is 1.5mm

Use this website for ohm calculation: http://tomcatt2.com/pvapps.html

I find it useful but it will show 0.2 or 0.3 ohms higher than actual value, so use it only as a guideline

Entry level ones AGA-T2 / RSST @Rm65/Rm90

I like the aga personally cos it's pyrex tank and u can use any juice without being afraid your tank will melt/crack.

But RSST is much easier to set up and fool proof.
*
Rsst a lil bit pricy but will definitely look into it, thanks! icon_rolleyes.gif

Another question... what model 18650 batteries recommended for mech mod? Until now still using the stock blue batteries, lol

RSST is really easy to setup though. AGA-T2 will be easy once you're used to setting it up but prolly needs 10-20 times of practice depending. It's gonna be a pain in the ass if you're new to agat.

Most highly rated ones are AW. Many mod makers also recommend AW batteries to go with their mods. But if you wanna opt for something cheaper, the runner up is Efest that cost about Rm10 cheaper.

AW 18650 @ Rm38-40
EFEST 18650 @ Rm28-30
*
Thanks once again notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

I don't think I will have any trouble with rsst or aga-t since I am currently using Cobra Clone, haha.

Want to change coz lately, for some reason, it will misfire... it seldom happens thou.

EDIT: Why it seems like no one uses Sanyo, Panasonic or Samsung batteries?

Hong5005? I also always buy stuff from him, lol

Anyone ever tried buying stuff from FastTech.com? They have free shipping and the stuff are shipped from HK.

Just search Hong5005 in lelong, easy to find thumbup.gif
Also check out his resistance wires... I bought mines all from him, so far top notch and cheapest!

My nemesis clone reach already, hehe
Firing kuat! Better than chi you clone... Only down side is that it's really really heavy doh.gif

Silver plated, SS body

Or maybe the chi you clone I played with last time is faulty, lol

Definitely tonnes better than my KTS mech mod, lol

Hello gang.

Currently am using a mortar brass.. Quite interested in the Chi Yu clone + silver connectors.

Will it be an upgrade in terms of performance? Or should I just keep my current mod?
*
Don't think so... Scientifically speaking, full brass has better conductivity versus full SS or SS+Silver.

So keep! If you want increased performance on your current mod, try to find the wax they use to improve conductivity on metal connections (I don't know what it's called but I do have it, got some leftovers from my office). It helps to improve conductivity on connections like bolts and nuts etc. It improves conductivity so there will be much less voltage drop and much better firing.

that's for ss chi yu clone, what about brass chi yu clone?
*
I will get back to you on that... Need to consult my Engineering Materials textbook lol

But one thing I can be sure of is... Mortar if I am not mistaken, has pure solid copper firing pins. No matter what other kind of firing pin, other than pure gold or pure silver, sure lose to pure solid copper.

QUOTE(aimank_88 @ Sep 21 2013, 09:46 PM)
U mean noalox? Yea been using that, really does make a slight difference in firing.

Hmm okay. Asking coz im a getting a kayfun 3.1. So mortar a bit ugly la for kayfun.  tongue.gif
*
Yeah yeah noalox! Doesn't make a difference on new mods but once the mods get old... it does wonders! We use it on old wet cell battery solid pins in the server room and also on solid copper ground bar connectors. The difference is a lot.

QUOTE(mengfart @ Sep 22 2013, 12:37 AM)
Any good tanks recommended?

side note. which side should I put the batteries? positive facing the firing or opposite?
*
Vivi nova! It comes with 2 extra coil heads so basically it will get you going till you know what type of tank you like.

There's just so many types and sizes and models. Youtube is your best friend here smile.gif

Positive always up.

My nemesis clone firing pin dismantled itself just now into tiny little bits!!!! Turns out everytime I use it, the firing pin will loosen a bit, ugh.
Anyways to overcome this problem?? Using 18650 batteries.

BTW, anyone here has experience buying items from FastTech Hong Kong? I've heard that the customs will stop and confiscate items from them.
*
Yeap! Maybe will confiscate only lar. But is fine now, coz FastTech now ships via China, not HK. Check out their main page notice at the top.
I just ordered a few stuff.. Maybe you can wait a few more days and see how my items fare.

Yeap, not exactly microcoil I guess since its only 6 loop but sort of la tongue.gif Its a trident smile.gif
Dont want dual coil liao, even single coil pun cotton gets dry fast. But then I am using the facial cotton not cotton balls, this cotton it feels hard not fluffy so maybe cant absorb the juice properly laugh.gif
*
Lol, I use sterilized cotton balls... 10 drips = 10 puffs only on dual microcoil

but the vape and warmth... heaven~

Just use the ones from watsons... 10 balls 2.90 one. I am using it now, no issue at all. But boil it 1st and dry it. Really do have a layer of smthing floating in the pot after boiling it >.<

Anyways, anyone here DIY their own liquid? Want to steal some recipes from you guys, hahahaha

My favourite and the only one I vape now, I call it Tangy Strawberry Lemon Zinger.

Ingredients:
1. 75% VG (No PG since I am sensitive to it)
2. 4% Lemon Flavouring (Or lower % also can... the lemon flavour very strong!)
3. 15% Strawberry Flavouring
4. 6% Orange Flavouring
5. 5 drops/10ml of liquefied Stevia sugar (Can buy the Equal Stevia sackets and dilute in PG or any UPS grade alcohol or pure VG)

All flavouring I use star brand. So far works very well for me.

Also gonna try to use citric acid on my new batch... they say it brings out the fruity flavours even more.

Ahhh... interesting. was just going to ask if anyone knows how to make their own liquid.

Your Tangy Strawberry Lemon Zinger sounds nice vccy118 .

might give it a try,

perhaps you could point me to the right direction of purchasing the ingredients i need to make my own liquid.
*
Everything except for nicotine and Stevia sugar can be bought from bakery supply shops. I will compile a list later on after work

cool. im gonna give vccy118 recipe a try. smile.gif

do let me know, once u have the list compiled ya .
*
Actually you only need to go to 3 sources to get the materials:
1. Bakery supply shop (Vegetable Glycerin, Flavouring, Citric Acid (For enhanced fruit flavour))
2. Watson/Guardian for Equal Stevia Sugar
3. Online shop like Lelong and Facebook for concentrated Nicotine

Hardest ingredient to come by is the nicotine... for me its not an issue at all since I don't use nicotine juices.

Just done recoiling using three techniques:
1. Twisted wire (2 x 32 AWG)
2. Microcoil (8 wraps over 2mm centre diameter)
3. Dual mesh wick (1 large wick and 1 small wick inside the large wick)
3. Brushed cotton on wick

and the end result:

Vapes like dual coil dripper!

yeke? lupa la .. xpenah jadi la microcoil huhu!! kalau buat mesti 1 wrap kanthal akan terkeluar from the microcoil so xjadi microcoil..
1 time put cotton .. (trident) but when put likuid .. abes banjir tank .. flooding abes ..
*
Remember to torch also! Microcoil after torch become very hard to bend, so will stay in place. I usually torch mine 2 times... 10 secs torch, then let it cool, 10 secs torch again.

QUOTE(infernoaswen @ Sep 23 2013, 06:52 PM)
Owh, for me I keep the drill bit in the coil when screwing the kanthal into the pole. This will keep the coil shape in a fixed position. Cotton I feel absorb a lot of liquid so flooding I guess is common, just need to estimate how much you need I guess. I am still learning with cotton  laugh.gif
*
Yeah I agree, keeping the drill bit in is a MUST! Screwed up few times because forgot to use drill bit...
