Wonder if anyone did claim warranty for your Orient watches bought from Citytime before? I asked citytime regards to their International warranty stated on the product page, they said if we would like to claim warranty, it's better and easier if we send it back to them. Doesn't sounds right to me, sounds very fishy. Anyone can clarify this, please?

It's not fishy. They probably sent it back to the factory here... btw Orient watches sold here came from factory in M'sia.
Japan factory produces for domestic and US market. If not mistaken, there is also a Philippines factory... can't remember.
In S'pore, they sell the Japan versions but costs more.

From what I've seen from the official orient usa and jp websites, the recommended retail prices of open heart models is higher than classic models both in usd/yen

It's a PITA I tell you!
You have to unscrew two crowns everytime you need to set the watch, and don't get me started with the pain if you accidentally advanced the date.

all also overlapping like seiko and seiko 5.
got few more orients close to rm2k also... maybe more now.

well monarch after 30% discount is rm945...on amazon its rm750.
so definitely not currency doing its job...its orient here doing their shady job

and after reading its review on wornandwound, its clear that the domed sapphire accounts for the extra price.
but i dont understand why it has a 18mm lug width when the case is 40mm.
and having exhibition caseback to display the movement's fuglyness is just

Actually this price I can't even confirm yet. Sales person offered 20% which ended up at 1645. My friend who works in sungei wang says he can maybe get 1500. Thank you for the note. I will survey further.
