So I don't want to declare. Lazy to check one by one. This is actually my first year declaring income tax with some dividend in my CDS. Usually my mum will declare for her CDS.

Section 108 dividend = Need to declare to claim/offset against your tax payable
Single-tier dividend = No need to declare

Please take note to keep all the supporting document of dividend income, just in case in future u need to buy property or car and receive a "Love Letter" from LHDN laugh.gif

I've got the letter last 2 years, asking me to bring the receipt for few years. So, I just submit and get the stamping on the receipt as well as the BE form.

Actually. there is no law to say you do not need to declare your incomes just because u are not taxed more like Dividends .

But people do make their own judgements not to declare .......

Government also save a lot of money tongue.gif
Still earned some profit isn't it? hmm.gif

There is a lot lot of money.

For eg.
If a company gives 10 million in total dividend pa. there is 100 company doing so, it means 1 billion of dividend.
out of 1 billion, if we assume 25% is given to minority shareholders that subjected to low tax bracket or don't need to pay tax one (especially retired person whereby no income already so even added dividend so under taxable bracket), means 250 million is given to minority shareholders.
250 x 25% = potential 62.5 million refund!

I believe KLSE listed company give more than 1 billion of dividend annually. I no count on this, correct me if I am wrong.

Somemore, a lot of company have plenty of tax credit around, so it is a big waste for those tax credit not being utilised, particular for those shareholders that have low tax bracket or under taxable bracket one, and particularly for retired person.

Would we be able to claim back the portion due to us from LHDN if we are below the 25% tax bracket of the single-tier system?

Ya, Income Tax Law does have a deeming provision to say the properties u own come from Taxable Income Sources, unless you prove otherwise.

The duty to prove is on u, not the income tax dept.
