Hi.anyone holding PJI-WA here that may have information positive on this counter.
I have been holding this stock more than a year now since Jan2012 and it has lost 50% since. I see some movement finally and about to dump and cut the loss and move on to hopefully greener pasture.

Is there any corellation between falling REIT prices and actual property demand. Does this indicate that property pricing is on it way down.

Not likely, because the property counters did not show retreat............

for REIT, I think is the dividend yield lesser cause the attractive is lower

could be interest rate..higher interest lower yield hence less attractive..
but i dun think interest rate is rising leh?? maybe risky stock now have higher return hence everyone is selling REIT to invest in other stocks..

AFAIK, increase in interest rate will affect both property sectors and REIT, but in different ways.

Property - lower demand
REIT - since REITs must distribute 90% of their income, they rely heavily on bank loan for capital expenditure (though right issues and private placement are two other options).

Reits are mainly for commercial property, so when you mention attractive , is that counters less attractive or commercial space les attractive to investors? I guess investors for residential and commercial are two type of fish, but normally i can see commercial property gets hit first before residential when a decline occurs. Sorry for questions but was trying to see how much of effect the new loan caps of Bank negara affecting this sector. And ahem maybe hoping for some firesale.
