I try not to charge my phone over night since S3. Because now I have 3 batteries and a desktop charger.

One battery specifically for sleeping overnight use. so next morning I wake up and change the battery and charge the other one. So now I don't have to cucuk my s4 everytime. good for the USB port too..
*
But sometiems there are complaints where this will result in "looses" - longgar....

the more plug in and out happens, the more it doesn't attach tiedly...

I've been charging my phone overnight and no issue with battery.. for years ever since before the smartphone era...

I just thought it is more important to make sure your hp is filled with juice rather than thinking too much of what going to happen to the battery.... Especially smartphone

Guys...

Just curious that I found my GS4 and gf's Note 2.. the shutter is pretty slower than the one in Note 2 in between the moment you hit the capture button and the camera taking them...

Does anyone have any comment/input on this?

Hmm, that's abit odd. Were you using your s4 on full auto-mode? As in disabling auto night mode also in auto-mode. Sounds confusing yeah lol but I hope you get it tongue.gif
*
Yes..

I tried both by disabling auto night mode together and it is nowhere as fast as the note 2 the moment once I press the capture button...

It takes up like half a second to do the focus while the note 2 was very quick...

Btw, it is an I9505 32GB SME set

Btw, I have found a thread regarding on the shutter lag issue also happening on my I9505....

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...2286244&page=13

Currently only read till page 13.. hopefully there is a fixed solution when I finish reading it and Sammy gonna fix this.

I can't accept a premium phone taking shot slower than its predecessor and most turn out blurry and it goes worst when there's even a slight movement

Not sure if this is only happening to the I9505 or I9500 have the same issues too?

Guess I should go back and take a video of how the shutter lag is.

from my experience in using both i9500 and i9505, the cameras are terrible. On i9500, it took like 2~5 seconds (or longer) to load the camera (that’s before the update last week, read that the startup speed is faster after the recent update?).  The speed of focusing in door is slow, but at least if I hold the capture button to focus (burst mode disabled), it can capture immediately after I release the capture button.

On i9505, camera startup speed is faster (1~2 seconds), focusing speed is okay. Worst is shutter lag.. even if holding the capture button to focus, it still takes like 0.5~1 second to capture after releasing capture button. I often got so frustrated with i9505’s camera when trying to capture my baby’s precious expression which at one point I flung the phone to the bed (still under control for not throwing it against hard surface  tongue.gif ).

I was tricked by S3’s camera which capture almost instantaneously and thought that S4’s camera can only be as good, if not better..
*
Indeed the I9505 startup camera is good I will say...

So how about the focus comparison of these 2..

Shutter lag vs these 2...

Image quality? My s4 has a lot of blurry images.. but it works damn good outdoor during bright sunny day... other than that, i feel it performs below par.

I have just emailed to samsung thru their website "contact us" section.. Let's hope I can get back a reply on this and hope people also should start flooding their mailbox to make sure they are working on it.

i think a common mistake when using touch screen camera is tapping the shutter on screen key too hard.

once the focus ring finish focus, a gentle tap will capture it.
but when pushed too hard, the phone moves and the pic will be blurry.

i prefer to turn off burst mode.
so i can long press shutter button to focus, and capture when i release it.
*
Well... let's put it this way
.. if it doesn't happen on the note 2 and s3 using the similar way.. but s4... something must be wrong with it...

Of course, all methods been exhausted..... sweat.gif

My i9500 has no noticeable shutter lag, image can be captured as soon as capture button is released after long pressed to focus. Problem is it’s slow in focus, and sometimes even if it’s focused, it will try to focus again when I tried the tab once to capture.

On i9505, even after long press capture button to focus, it will takes like 0.5~1 second to actually capture. The hand must be really steady and object needs to stay still. Otherwise the successful rate in getting a blurry picture is easily more than 75%  sweat.gif
*
I hope Sammy fix this shit... seriously cause I put so much hope on this handset after I struggling hard deciding between this and the One...

same situation, kind of regret not getting the One :\

by the way, i have a feeling that the issue might be isolated case since not many people complaining about it  sweat.gif  i hope i was wrong and samsung will be releasing update to improve the camera
*
Samsung responded to my feedback in their website by calling me but all the CS gave was bullshit...

Denying something went wrong and said as if they would know if something goes wrong, if not it would be considered perfect.

What a terrible service.. All they ask is to bring my handset to the Service Centre.. I said this is a known issue but what he insisted was just to visit service centre to check..

I saw a shop in MRT station selling it for SGD 898 = around RM 2.2k

I don't think Singapore handset is any cheaper esp. after conversion...

you gotta ask the guy when he brought his s4. brows.gif

well i find that s4 camera is a little poor, it quite often takes blur pictures, but since it's just a phone camera, sigh..
*
Urs is the I9505 or I9500..

Well, I myself find the same thing as you and it is definitely not a user problem because I could take better pic with the S3 and Note 2.. and of course I tried the I9500 I had better image ...

Hopefully it is something can be addressed in next firmware updates.

mine is I9505, lte.

it's annoying to having to keep taking the same photo when it's always blur, and it's not even dark or low light.  vmad.gif
*
Then it is a known issue.... Tried checking with CS but Samsung CS sucks to the max... They refuse to acknowledge this and in the web I hardly see any bad comment about the camera ....

The last update 3 days ago didn't quite address the camera issue and I wonder if there's anyway we can feedback this to Samsung or at least if they are aware is what I hoped

I don't see any point for some of you debating and gauging others spending power/mindset....

People make their own choice and decide with their own money... There is really no point to tell people what they should do with their own money.

In forum I think we all share about knowledge but not criticizing others just because they refuse to spend a little bit extra/lesser....

That would be another question but what I am saying here is..... we don't judge someone when he decides to spend more/less with his own money

Nothing surprising at all. Most of the latest phones have their own clone/fake copies.
Plus, the biggest indication is obviously the low price. You yourself know the market price for a S4 phone, thus, do not let greed cloud your judgement.
*
Exactly..... About 1 year ago... way few months before the iPhone 5 was launched... 2 PRCs with heavy China accent came and took out a box and tell me iPhone 5 for RM300+......

lol....

Guess what. many people got con... some include my friend's parents where they did not know anything much about phone except the name "iPhone"..
Came back so proud showing the children until.. sweat.gif doh.gif

that still depends on how the individual defines cheap ...

Took up the HTC One in DiGi centre and bluetooth over to my S4 to see the quality comparison..
Hmm I must say this the so called 4mp "ultrapixels" are not on par with S4 at all...

But with S4 it is also some tough to get non blur pictures through my own experience...
