QUOTE(orangminyak2013 @ Oct 25 2013, 11:45 AM) 13.3/8”, K55, 68 lb/ft casing is to be landed and cemented to surface inside 17.1/2” hole. Macam soalan exam Uni jer nie.. The planned casing shoe is at 5,000 ft TVD below the cementing head. The shoe track is 80 ft long. On bumping the plug at the top of the shoetrack, the casing is to be pressure tested. Take the nominal wall thickness of 68 lb/ft casing as 0.480”. Following the test, pressure inside the casing is bled off at the cement unit. Assuming the casing has been cemented with 16 ppg cement and displaced with 10.0 ppg mud, What collapse pressure is applied to the casing 80 ft above the casing shoe? Assume cementing head elevation is equal to the top of cement (TOC) in the 13.3/8” x 17.1/2” annulus. (1,535 psi) |

QUOTE(Stamp @ Oct 25 2013, 07:35 PM) they still don't have a strong engineering arm. they always form a JV with AKER for engineering. Technip is already tied up with MMHE. They have done with Bumi Armada before.. IMO they shud just JV with Bumi Armada as Bumi can provide whole package of Floters to Subsea interface.. |

QUOTE(New Klang @ Nov 13 2013, 03:23 PM) Saw in MMHE a FPS rocket launcher some time ago. ha ha ha.. If the FPSO does not link to Petronas, Bumi Armada will never JV with MMHE.. There is one FPSO (Spread Mooring) currently in MMHE, I have completed 2 FPSOs (Turret Mooring), but this FPSO still not sail away.. Need to get Bumi Armada, a Malaysian company to use MMHE. Now there are 2 FPSO of BA at Keppel. |

QUOTE(fzul07 @ Nov 13 2013, 04:28 PM) Nowadays, SBM will pay local only max 25-30% of their current basic salary.. working environment in SBM is quite relax. You will be specialized in one or two area.. More to the place for Engineer to settle down.. benefit, 1 months contractual bonus (exclude from performance bonus), medical, 18-24 days leave.. Many VLCC type of vessel use for FPSO.. QUOTE(mybanana @ Nov 13 2013, 11:12 PM) I appreciate both of your input.....but, aiyooo...which one is reliable now? Currently, if you are not working with any of Oil & Gas company, MMHE is the good place to start.. Now, MMHE is improving, I believe their management has started to revamp the under performance employees.. the VSS for thousand of employees i believe is part of the revamp plan.. Im in midst either to accept or not offer from MMHE This post has been edited by abgkik: Nov 15 2013, 08:38 AM |

QUOTE(ohsome @ Mar 23 2014, 11:35 PM) Thanks guys for the advices. Anyway to defend myself I would like to clarify a few matters. Lucky you Mr. DREAMER did not notice your thread.. if not sure kena smack.. A) I have not attempted to leave my job after learning that operation has been going slow. B) I admit that I am impatient. I do not mind being sent offshore to be involved in other segments, but I dislike the waiting part when you are assigned to do nothing in the office. I believe that time is gold and should be spent on something useful instead. C) My dilemma comes only when I'm offered a chance to join this team which is building something very big. Not when I'm told I have to sit in the office for quite some time. Even though I admit it that it does affect my decision-making on this case a little bit. D) This new job offered is from another company but under the same company group. As in an internal switch and it comes by chance. I did not seek for job opportunities else where by myself. Still, thanks for smacking some common sense into my brain. I appreciate advices from both of you guys a lot..thank you so much again! 1. Is your learning curve going down when operation has been going slow? 2. Is your learning curve going down when not being sent offshore? 3. Is your learning curve going down when you are assigned to work in the office? IMO, go and learn something in your free time, we have CHOICES.. As for me during my waiting time for 1 1/2 years doing proposal (project belum masuk), I have studied SAP (MM Module), Orcaflex, Hydromax, Maxsurf, Staadpro.. Advance my skill in AutoCad, Solidwork, Microsof Project.. So bila project masuk.. I'm ready to use that tools.. |

QUOTE(azraeil @ Apr 15 2014, 05:29 PM) Lama tak masuk this thread, been a bit busy and actually on holiday for the last 4 weeks. Bliss. Perghhh.. to reach RM1 million/year lambat lagi nie..2. Career in PE & G&G are very rewarding. As I have mentioned a lot of times, once you reach a certain years of experience cut-off, your market value goes up exponentially. I have 17 years experience as a Geologist and my market value is currently 1 million ringgit a year. With 15-17 years experience you can command salaries of about 750-1 million ringgit a year (base salary, expat premium, bonuses, share options etc) with 10 years experience and good salary base in KL pun sudah OK.. but always feel sad on March every year when I only able to claim back RM 1k of my PCB from IRB malaysia.. 26% yo..
