I'm in QS field as Contract Administrator. Daily rate salary. Currently working with ExxonMobil. I've been in O&G Contracting & Procurement for 7 years already.

Fresh QS background the place start to work in O&G is by joining fabricator like Brooke Dockyard, THHE, MMHE, Labuan Shipyard, OceanMight, Boustead etc

Weird thing is my degree is in IT biggrin.gif

Upstream & Downstream question. Hard to answer. Both can earn good money. But I think Upstream environment is the best place to make big buck (and quick buck). Downstream depending of area specialization like mech rotating etc.

For offshore construction jobs, I usually liase with recruitment agency like Velosi Sdn Bhd, Applus-Velosi, Cekap Technical Services, Carimin (this one kena hati2 laa bro), EP Engineering, Prumatech, Petronnic, Soft-Triangle, NES Global, Petrominwork Sdn Bhd

T&C if you hired under third manpower agency pretty much the same like regular/permanent employee. Medical are covered as well. Only drawback takde cuti & MC jer so kena pandai2 laa adjust daily rate request tinggi2 haha laugh.gif So far not much complaint just that you have to be careful with agency like Carimin. Salary wise usually paid on 28th. Low salary? I think hired as contract staff lagi besar gaji bro hehe as long involved in related department & project you work into.

Offshore construction & installation although tak glemer but the pay hensem so I dont mind brows.gif

Which Petrofac? PML? PEC? PES? It takes me around 2-3 weeks for feedback. Not sure for fresh grad interview session but mine kinda straigt forward with the SM & GM. Only one face-to-face session. Will reporting for duty soon (PML)
