Good read about our loan policy. It'll take few more years to see the full potential of our loan and youth system when the age between players get closer. Maybe we can get another sister club in the Championship or Germany or Spain for our loanees to play in.

He was keen to join Chelsea before even going to Anzhi. He hoped SB eventually would be his destination. Close friends with Luiz too(well who isn't right?). The question on the need for another AM aside, getting a player who actually wants to play for Chelsea is always a positive.

On Everton, I think Martinez is a good fit for them. He is a good manager and with the quality at his disposal, he can produce a strong side. Aside from the names mentioned, Pienaar and Baines make up a dangerous combo on the left. Our RB should have a busy matchday. I feel Azpi would be a better choice in terms of speed since the Everton duo don't have a significant physical threat, then again Iva rarely disappoints.

Both of them should be fit, but still want to see other play for a change.
JM had good amount of time in training with Willian, Mata, Eto'o, Azpi, Torres, Essien. Not sure if MVG had international duty. Most of this group will start I think. It won't be good if players are starved of game time.

I have no idea why he doesn't fancy Mata. It's baffling actually. But we can't conclude anything just from the interview itself, we just have to see how the season progresses. To me, Mata is the favourite to start against Everton, i will be disappointed if he doesn't. And he spending 90min on the bench is unthinkable, i hope that doesn't happen.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this already, but I think there's an issue with the style of play. The style of play doesn't suit the team, rather than the other way round. We are attacking too directly, and we don't have the right set of players to do that. What we have is a good squad to play a more staggered attacking player. Few extra passes in midfield, few more outside the box and out wide. Last season, mazacar were successful in this, however, the problem wasn't that it was overdone, but instead, we lack a edge on goals. So i feel Mou should let the players play the style they're more comfortable with, but just have to be more lethal up front.

But this is not the biggest problem of this match in particular. It was one of those days were every opponent player didn't play a bad game. Everton overall played quite well. Though we had possession, we didn't have dominance. Sure we could have converted a couple of the chances we had, but we weren't convincing. It appears that Mou probably exploded in the half time team talk, and 2nd half everyone was gung ho, but we didn't improve tactically to control the game. Mou made his changes early in the second half. Although i appreciate the timing, I wasn't particularly impressed with the changes. I ended up with everyone running up and down the pitch.

P.S. I am being extra critical of the performance, but honestly we didn't play too bad, just that chances were missed, and few mistakes were made.

Yah, cesar should start. Shouldn't starve players of game time. I still prefer Torres or Eto'o, let them get build up some form to start. KDB also should be in the lineup, maybe Hazard on the bench.

I'd say play 4-3-3, replace speedy direct wingers with AMs who can play the ball around and stretch the play to get some sort of penetration with tight defense teams. Play Mikel as central DM, his best position IMO, first choice in this formation.

The pivots for 4-2-3-1 must be equally solid in both attack and defense, and they must be in sync so they dont allow any gaps.
e.g. Martinez-Schweinsteiger combo of last season... the pair that i guiltily admire.
