I hope Mata starts the next game. Few whispers going around about a Rooney-Mata swap. Mou would never sell one of the best players in the club, but only he knows how badly he wants Rooney.

Iva-Benteke match long battle was epic.
Mata was ineffective on the right, especially when stretched that wide. But his form is also in question as his touches was also not great.
Villa played with a good and tight midfield, hard to play through.
I expected more dynamism in pivot to make it harder for opponents. But it was just Lamps passing the ball square to Ram and running forward.
Lukaku had another impressive cameo, his touches and control was quite good.

I'm a big fan of anelka. Quality forward. Loved his style. Key player during our double.
EDIT: Just read that Anelka's agent passed away earlier this week. Maybe that stirred up some thoughts.

actually can. Because our strikers rarely get a chance on goal, always end up in position to feed others. So why not play another AM instead.
But i still think that should only be a secondary option. I rather have a striker who works well with our style and can get goals.

We always go for players who performed well or scored against us don't we.

Yah, if Jose wants a 22-man squad as he stated earlier, with incoming Willian and a striker, 3 players have to leave, most likely the 3 you mentioned.

I can't shake the feeling that we going to let someone important go on deadline day.

Yah, midifield is their weakness and we need to capitalize on that. Oscar can give Carrick problems. Ramires will provide cover for almost all his teammates. Interesting to see whether Mou will give Lamps a start. Lamps is good in set pieces, but his midfield contribution could be better IMO.

My preferred combo too. But I doubt Mou will take that risk in a big game like this, especially MVG having not started any PL games yet.

ballsy, but me rike. Lamps hasn't provided in midfield. Defensively not that effective. Only been making forward runs early. Better have lukaku holding the line while Oscar play deeper as he's been doing so far covering for lampard
