FC Figures released by KIA for Cerato are as follows

Cerato 1.6SX
City Driving  - 9.1 liter / 100 km
Highway driving  - 5.4 liter / 100 km
Combine Driving  - 6.8 liter / 100 km

Cerato 2.0SX
City Driving  - 10.2 liter / 100 km
Highway driving  - 5.4 liter / 100 km
Combine Driving  - 7.2 liter / 100 km
*
speaking of FC, does anyone verify how accurate the estimated FC shown on the dashboard?

i did my own calculation for the last full tank... dashboard shows 7.9l/100km... which is 12.6582km/l... but my own calculation is only 11.8xxxkm/l...

I calculated mine for few mths since Aug...quite close.  Again, all depends on the traffic at each place.
*
hmm... how does the traffic affect the estimated FC? i thought it should just use the petrol used against distance?

when your car stuck in traffic it is still burning petrol what
*
ya i know it burns petrol... but the FC estimation should include this in the estimation wert... just take whatever distance traveled versus the fuel brunt, should output the FC reading... anyway, was just wondering what formula they use to derive the FC on the dashboard... one of the episode of mythbuster also shows that electronic reading is not accurate...

anyway... i just did 1500km in 1 weekend... FC wise very good i would say... mostly highway drive plus some penang city jam for 2 days... gave me about avg 14.6km/l... highway driving btwn 110-140km/h... very good i would say...

but during this 1500km journey, one thing that irritates me was the rattling sound from my steering/dashboard... otherwise it would be an awesome journey... also i notice the wind noise grow exponentially after 120km/h...

should i get the rattling sound fixed? icon_question.gif
during my first 1000km the mechanic also noticed ask me to go back and check... but i scared that they open up to check causes even more noise in the end... also, i read somewhere the prev Forte has dashboard rattling noise as well... was it able to fix? or did it backfire?

i really hope the rattling noise would be fixed then it'll be a great car... cause even new persona doesnt have such rattling noise sad.gif

I guess you can just claim the warranty. I've done it for my current Kia a few years ago. Hope that they still have the same policy now.
*
thanks for letting me know... but i thought Naza is hard at claiming warranty...

Buydirect, can you kindly clarify this?

QUOTE(kkljason @ Dec 16 2013, 09:36 AM)
I wish to correct myself on my own quote. I checked with a few SA mentioning there is no changes on the internal trim. So the leather finishing might stay. To think again, there is no reason KIA want to remove the leather finishing and sell the same price and killing their future business. Kinda stupid to do that too. Sorry my misquote.  tongue.gif  tongue.gif  tongue.gif

Anyway I changed my mind and plan to get a 2014 car. Will pay the booking fee this or next week and plan to get it by mid Jan 2014.

Want to check something if anyone changed their HUD to the 2.0 type with GPS & DVD player? How much will it cost?
*
ya dont think they will be suicidal to downgrade the specs... my guess it could be cheaper or more discount as well... car always like that one... business not so good then they increase specs or more discount... rarely the other way round...

Hi guys, got 2 loans approved for my 1.6 now. Still pondering should I get 2013 car with the current offers or wait 2014 car which SA say earliest is after CNY. So should I be feeding my ego to get the 2013 car or better so called RV (which I dun care much) and wait till after CNY.

In addition I got 2 version of the SKD/CKD stories here,

1. 2013 car still SKD 2014 car fully CKD. If 2013 SKD cars, ex-stock shall be from Naza stockyard at Rawang. 2014 CKD cars shall be by trailer from Gurun, Kedah. If from Port Klang are those fully CBU, dunno here got or not.
2. Does not matter 2013 or 2014 car still SKD becoz controlled by Kia (Korea). Naza just an assembler.

Kindly share your views.  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

IMO, depends whether you will sell the car soon or use very long... think the first 3 years car value depreciate the most... so if you want to sell in <3 years then take 2014 car... 1 year out of 3 years is a lot... but if sell after >7 years then become relatively lesser...

if i were you i will just take now... instant saving for about 3k for free service... to me buying car think bout RV sure depress one... like all electronic gadgets, you cant keep up with the price...

Guys,

Just want some opinions. Clear White better or Glittering metal?

I just book 1.6 at my area, waiting for car loan approval.
Test drive it. Surprising, 1.6 is not underpower at all.
*
im driving a clear white 1.6 now... hehe... color preference very subjective depending on individual... but if taking white be prepared la to wash car every week... water marks very visible just after rain... especially these rainy season so tiring... but i love white and white somehow seems bigger...

and ya... 1.6 dont feel under-powered for me also... but those who use to drive hot hatch or >2.0 liters car sure say under powered...

Any cerato owner, can share all ur driving experience with ur new ride?
Better if can tell us ur previous car and make comparison from there.
This way, it is better to make any potential buyer (including me  tongue.gif ) to get a clearer picture of how cerato feels like.
Some of us are just decent driver who look for comfort and quiet driving pleasure, not an F1 driver.
Can share in terms of FC, NVH, power, legroom, seat comfort etc.

i wrote something in the stated thread...
just some update for it... just fetch friends to the airport with full load few days ago... 4 adults and 2 kids in the car... cars feels much bumpier when full load than 1-2 person... when 1-2 person load, the rides feels nice and comfortable... fit in 4 huge a** luggage bags and 1 stroller... my gf's bro in law was quite impressed...

I was going to Cameron Highlands. Forget the FC. Its not going to be pretty since I was flooring the car.
*
i just went Cameron with my 1.6 last weekend... wasnt really flooring but avg going uphill at 3-4k rpm... tailing a 2.4l accord... manage to catch up... so 1.6 Cerato isnt really that underpowered as ppl claim... i know some would argue that the accord was light footed... but i went uphill without much sweat... guess a 2.0 would be nicer...

FC wise was quite good.. up and down from Cameron i got 13.28km/l... that is for the simpang pulai road i've taken...

fc wise quite same as 1.8L civic..i was expecting 11-12 km/l, that's for highway/city drive..since people always said kia fc not good.
for daily usage, highway/city drive how much u can get?
*
for 60% highway/40% city daily driving, i get bout avg 11.8km/l for the past few months...

sigh... sad to come in here to read anymore... now 1.6 comes with touch screen and still have free service(which SA in Dec claimed that only for 2013 cars)... Naza is not rewarding the early loyal buyers and not consistent in their spec giving...

no wonder ppl say korean resale value not good... imagine you buy something today, just 1 month down the road the same thing you got have better spec/goodies... so when you wanna sell, ppl confirm will prefer the one with better goodies... then your goods become second choice even by its own brand...

korean car is no doubt improving, but guess the distributor has a long way to go... they should learn from mazda where early buyers get better goodies... guess my next purchase wont be a korean anymore...
