Is not worth it if the item is >10% increased price compared to grocery chains (which is fairly common from my survey). Especially if you have other cards which give cashback for grocery as well.

Each person's time is worth differently to them. Some of us, even if not retired, the way our work is we do have 'down time' in between (not full throttle 9-5). I have had work situations where it was not possible to optimise, in that situation just let go. But when my work situations change then this sort of hobby is more useful than watching some netflix or doom-scrolling news/social media.

Double check the T&C, I believe 2500 only if you spend everything (not including balance transfer etc) before 8th Sept. Cannot spend on 10th Sept (need hit 3k at that point).

My opinion - worth to add 500 ewallet spending to lock-in the 12% and potentially (I think high chance) get additional for the ewallet under the new T&C.

Wouldn't you only have gotten RM36.6 cashback for petrol (since its 12%)? Where did RM50 come from?

In that case I don't see any issue.

The RM2.5k is not from 8 Sep, it is 'statement amount' on your statement date (which I assume is 3k).

The transactions under old system are from before 8 Sep, but the qualification (minimum spend) is only calculated on the statement date (otherwise you'd get ridiculous stuff like the first 2.5k of spend do not get 12% because you haven't hit the limit at time of spend).

Marketing/product team can give example, backend team can do different maybe. I never checked the example in detail, just follow what others here recommend.

Is not complicated - here's my summary:-
Use RM250 petrol at shell (RM30 cashback)
Reload ewallet/online RM500 (RM10 cashback)
Pay RM250 TNB bill (RM10 cashback)
The rest top up to RM3000.

Groceries/overseas IMO not worth it - groceries 5+% easy to obtain from other cards generally (effective cashback rate is 4% for groceries/utilities and 2% for ewallet/overseas).

I believe topping up to 3k can be done by purchasing TNG ewallet reload pin.

In the end is RM50 cashback for 3k spend. Which is basically Affin Duo level.

Consider Maybank's Ikhwan Amex? 8% for any spend any day of the week wherever amex is accepted (which is... all petrol stations).
