QUOTE(Jigoku @ Jun 19 2013, 10:14 PM) Honestly I think SE should totally remove this region thing. It really confuses people... To your question, yes, you will be able to play with everyone. The region lock with your account is just for billing purposes that is like in UK pound, US dollar, or EURO. I'm not sure about this though, which is for expansion purpose, If you have a europe client, europe account, might need europe expansion version in the future. I'll just do a simple guide ( hope my memory of the steps is correct.)
1. Goto https://www.facebook.com/PlayStation.DE/app_184026455096557 2. "like" it 3. the page with the app will refresh, and click on the blue button will show u a beta code for pc, and a ps3 promo code to download the client in ps3(if it didnt show, refresh the page, and click on the blue button again.) 4. write down the code somewhere, click the link given at the bottom inside the app will bring you to the steps for activating the beta code. 5. brings you to a website in foreign language with 2 links, click the 1st link. 6. a new page with another 2 link, click top link. a light blue rectangle button. 7. bring you to the SE account page. click on creating a new account (if you do not possess an EU account), or login(if you have an EU account) 8. now it's pretty straight forward, put in email, id name, pass etc. address just simply a fake will do. *remember to select UK/united kingdom. then select british language or watever, can't remember bout this clearly. else your SE account manage page will kept showing the german language orz... had a hard time myself trying to change everything back to english* 9. go to the email you registered with the account, in your email, confirm the activation. 10. opens up a new page, key in the beta code you written down earlier. 11. then will ask you to confirm it's activated by login to your SE account, select service > FF14 > options > see whether beta ARR is enabled. That's it, I hope my memory serves me right. Been doing that for 3 friends earlier. Hope will help those having trouble EDIT: opps forgot to mention where to download the client. in step 5, the 2nd link is the beta forum link. click that link, inside the beta forum, look for "Getting Started" thread, then "Test Client Download", and look inside the "Windows" post This post has been edited by poipoy: Jun 19 2013, 11:44 PM |

QUOTE(nofeelatall @ Jun 20 2013, 08:39 PM) Hi guys, I've been wanting to play this game for quite a while after seeing the trailer =D. Any idea where I can get a beta access and where can I buy the game from? I've seen the website but it does not offer in Malaysia. Which region should I choose from? For getting the beta code (not sure whether it's still available), can look at page 10 onwards. but i'll just copy my post here.I'll just do a simple guide ( hope my memory of the steps is correct.) 1. Goto https://www.facebook.com/PlayStation.DE/app_184026455096557 thanks to shojikun for the link 2. 11. then will ask you to confirm it's activated by login to your SE account, select service > FF14 > options > see whether beta ARR is enabled. in step 5, the 2nd link is the beta forum link. click that link, inside the beta forum, look for "Getting Started" thread, then "Test Client Download", and look inside the "Windows" post That's it, I hope my memory serves me right. Been doing that for 3 friends earlier. Hope will help those having trouble As for buying the game, look at page one. If none of them make sense to you, hopefully your area has a dedicated game shop since usually they will sell it after release on 27th Aug 2013 or you can order from them. With FF11 (the older mmo version) and this coming FF14 ARR, they never listed SEA country, players from these places always have to fake an address. Concerning Region to choose from, gawd, why can't people spend some time reading the threads, I really pity shojikun always having to repeat the info everytime a noobie come in and ask it. In short, the region doesn't matter, since no matter where you choose, we all play together, region is for the billing currency, and *maybe* getting the same region expansion version in the near future. Edit: Just a small story concerning faking the address. During when the security token came out, I had to get it, because registering the token with my account will let me have extra inventory space on FF11. I really gambled on US10 to order the thing since there was no app yet at that time. I was using NA account. The address with my account was something like Country: USA, States: California, Poscode 9999-99999, City: *some city in california. These 4 entries I couldn't change since it's selected from drop-down box. However, for the street address, I just filled it with my real home address, the whole address ending in Malaysia. Now a miracle really happened! I got the token after 2months. The token was sent to the Philipines, then to Indonesia, then to singapore, then to my doorsteps LOL. I can see it from all the chop-marks on the box(which was very very crumbled up when I got it). This post has been edited by poipoy: Jun 20 2013, 09:03 PM |

This is my opinion and my thoughts only.
Honestly I care non for the English beta forum. For me their discussion looks like kids war, everyone think their opinion is the best and must not be countered. Someone may not like some aspect of the game, but that "some aspect" might not annoyed other players and these "other players" either just accept it or even like it. It's a never ending loop. No one game can cater to all the taste of the individual gamers. There's one exception though, when one aspect really fail to amuse the large public, then it will be listened to and actions taken upon to remedy it. For example the failure of 1.0 and the constant upgrade and remake of the game. So maybe if you really don't like some parts of the game system, please do not force other to accept how you feel. Best action should be posting your feedback to SE on the feedback forum. The English forum is just a troll paradise where every fans is bored till the next playable test date, and thus just watch every new threads/post like a vulcher. For my own thoughts of the game. Well, I really like it. If you ask me to give a personal score, I would give 9/10. Not max because I'm concern with the job system, and leveling pace. I felt that the pace is too fast but maybe it's due to beta and everything concerning leveling is sped up. If however this is actually the pace during launch, I will accept it since I do not think it's such a big deal for myself. - Graphics is really good, superb actually. TERA nor GW2 which are hyped on graphics can't even compete at this level. - Character motions and visuals are just too pretty and fluid. - Gameplay such as FATE, quest seeking, guildhest, leves, dungeons, well, just like any other mmos so nothing special. - Battle system is so-so on the approach factor. However it's excellent in action-graphic-wise. I do agree it need to be tweaked. - Class/Job system. The only mmo nowadays that let you have all in one character which why I fell in love with the game. - Sound/Music is superb and can never be heard from other mmos. This is getting long, but my final thoughts on why the game will not fail me is due to the development team. I left 1.0 after 2 or 3 weeks, can't remember, around time when the producer letter starts or when feedbacks were asked. Seriously, I never thought that the communication between the development team and the community players continue until now. This is the first game that I have seen that the communication between both party is so strong. Dev Team do look at the feedbacks and if it's valid in their point of view, they will carried it out. Best thing is from time to time they'll show players what's to be expected. From what I've seen, and if FF14 is anything like FF11 in the evolution aspect. I strongly believe that there'll be lots of content during end-game as well. However this remain to be questioned since at beta we won't know for sure. Anyway, I do suggest that don't be too picky. If one aspect really put you off to enjoy the game as a whole, my advice is well, give feedback to the dev team (not to the trolls in general discussion in beta forum). If no improvement is made (in your own opinion), either accept or put the game down. Last short story. I've introduced the game to 4 friends of mine. We met in other mmo 3 yrs back and remain friends and kept contact with skype/wataspp etc. I've got them 4 beta keys. They tested on it last friday-sunday. Today they're all in depression and complained the 2 day test short period lol. They've never seen such beautiful mmos, and can change class on-the-go. They usually don't have sound switch on since we're on skype, but I told them to turn on the volume, they're mesmerized by the quality of the music. These are 4 people who always spend alot in F2P mmo with cash shops, and they now never want to go back to those mmo they were playing. The fact that their english is primary school standard, and they're enjoying the game, it's already a success for the dev team. |

The server transfer thing, I think that's related to old characters of 1.0. At the moment since only the old players get to do the transfer, and game still in beta, too many old players going to those 2 servers and population is not balanced out. When game is launch and new players begins to join all worlds, the system will force players to join other worlds to balance it out, then when balanced population will let masamune to be picked again as your new world. Hope I'm making sense. In short, don't worry about it unless you possess an old 1.0 character that you would like to continue playing after launch in 2.0
Edit: forgot to mention -- --- So if you're in beta, remember in beta phase 4 which is open beta that carries forward your character to open launch, try create your toon in masamune if you wanna join LYN group. A side note, for us SEA region, forget about the language barrier. JP server serves us better with faster ping, even if it said JP server, it only means that JP players will be majority. However, it's really a mix group with all players from all part of the world. This post has been edited by poipoy: Jun 25 2013, 12:32 PM |

QUOTE(intothefantasy @ Jun 28 2013, 03:05 PM) seriously do ff14 has dps meter? well i like that kind of challenge but in the same time alot ppl dont really like it which you might guess why..personally i would like to know how my character is performing and in the same i can understand the mechanics more with it...not used to compare haha In a party, don't know whether you have noticed before. When engaged in battle, the job icon will have numbers like A or 2 or 3 depending on number of party members. also 1 sec cast time mage? it wont happen dude also i am not sure you did really play a mage before but certain times there are spell having 1sec-2sec casting time for certain spell like ice element but dmg will be lesser than fire which having much higher cast time. But then i dont see this element in ff14 as both fire and ice are having same cast time A = Highest enmity, next is 2,3 onwards. So whoever has A if lose enmity, mob will target 2, and 2 becomes A. If you know what I mean. Since a good tank will always be A, I guess DPS can compete for 2 BTW, I only know this while looking at the beta forum, someone posted about this. I was asking shoji what does those number meant last week beta lol. |

QUOTE(shojikun @ Jun 29 2013, 06:40 AM) .... Lol haiyo, I'm not talking bout the ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ on the mob last name lar!No the Alphabet is just to show the monster indication Such as in where there is more than two same monsters name. the Alphabet will be the best indicator on which monater are you targeting. I'm talking bout our party member list, you know everyone got their job icon? when in battle, there's A, 2, 3, 4, on top of that job icon in party list. That's the indicator for hate/enmity towards each party member. This post has been edited by poipoy: Jun 29 2013, 12:56 PM |

QUOTE(nwk @ Jun 30 2013, 06:38 PM) without duty finder this mmo is very lame. generally, you're in a JP server. JP players, never or rarely invite english speaking players. The best way to find a party, is to create the party yourself. Well that's what I did. or find a JP language intro learning site. Learn the 50 Hiragana, 50 Katakana alphabets. so when you see, for e.g, jp ppl shouting for サタシヤ(sa-ta-shi-ya) you instantly know he's asking for satasha, then, メンバー(mem-ba: member)@1アタッカー(a-tak-ka: attacker) @1幻(CNJ) @1盾(tanker). so you can just reply that guy よろしくー(yoroshiku~: hi) LV20ARCです(lv20archer here) おさそっておねがいします~(osasotte onegaishimasu: please invite me). waste my time LFP, LFP only. Considering switching to NA server in P4, where people there actually knows what LFP means. Just get into the damn party and then be quiet LOL. Add the japanese language pack in your windows language and type jp with it. However, all these require you to understand all the jp alphabet. I learn japanese when I played FFXI before just to make it easy to get party invites and act as fake jp I still remember the COP days in FFXI.. with the time diff, can't never find NA ppl, only jP players around. I'm still amazed how I coordinate the fights with themlol. I conned JP into my party, then tell them that I'm malaysian chinese, japanese not well, then coordinate fight strategy in broken jp language This post has been edited by poipoy: Jun 30 2013, 07:11 PM |

QUOTE(Kirino2012 @ Jul 4 2013, 06:41 PM) Hi just want to ask. So most of us here playing at jp server. So if i play on jp server can my game be in english or in japanese. How to say this...- game language is determine by which language of the game you buy. say your store or online sellar sell it in english, you buy it as a english client, vice versa with other language. - the region of the server (jp/na/eu) does not determine the language of your client. - all players will meet together in the server they choose to play, doesn't matter what language of the game you buy. |

The thing is, just go choose whichever server you may like. you can always remake new character at other server to start over if you didn't like your choice. I just felt that one shouldn't call other names when things doesn't go your way. I once played a chinese mmo, a guy kept shouting in english for party, did I invite him? no, because there were other players needing it that spoke chinese. You may say I'm discriminating, but it's all about the choices that made me happy and comfortable. It'll be the same if you have had that choice to make. You can b**** about how you're lfg for 2hrs without getting one, but just dont blame it on reason such as race issue/language. The fact is why some people don't have that problem, and you have? Remember something, the game is developed by japanese, and they did put tags on NA or JP servers. You chose to join JP server which mean you should fully understand the consequences of joining there.
Now, since duty finder is officially out tomorrow, I'll show some points of why choosing a JP server is beneficial. 1. ping is lower compare to NA/EU 2. peak play time and off peak play time will be same for the majority of players. 3. There's an understanding of most player which will be joining Tonberry/Masamune on launch for SEA/oceanic community 4. It's harder during beta because the game is not open or launch yet, which means much less players. 5. If there's any large dungeon raids anytime in the future, joining the NA will mean you have to wake up at around 7am, depending on PDT or EST time of NA. Not to mention you'll probably be playing with only the night owl of the NA community if your peak play time is around 8pm ( early morning NA) |

QUOTE(Kirino2012 @ Jul 4 2013, 09:34 PM) just asking u guys at jp server gud at japanese for communication wif them?? any problem comm. wif them?? thanks guys for the answer issue for ping, cause like in wow / gw2 [na] my ping is around 200 - 400ms, everythg is very smooth & dodgeable. yeah will try out each server soon, thanks Honestly there's will be problem communicating with them, as in trying to discuss in-depth strategy on boss/dungeon etc. if just normal like hi bye how are you, there's the auto translate lol. normal fights like focus on this mob, go over there, heal me etc, there should be auto translate.(not really sure since it's still not fully functional) Japanese do know english, but they're not comfortable using it. The younger generation do learn english in school. only the older generation may not know a single word of english. The great example would be yoshi-p himself, the producer and director of the game. His english is really good, but he never want to use it and instead rather having a translator, during E3, they were really teasing him to do those producer letter in english himself, but he's not comfortable with it.
