I did have tethering on going on my set, maybe that's the reason I have my batt flatten fast with only 5hrs SOT. But overall kinda satisfied. whistling.gif
*
Thanks !! Tethering does use more juice. 5hrs is good.

How to create a Nandroid backup if my phone is running out of space?
*
If you are using TWRP there is an option for you to select your external SDCard. I think all the recent recoveries have this option.

Where?
Apparently I got myself into a boot loop after I choosed TWRP at ROM Manager and restarting into recovery mode  cry.gif
*
I don't know if ROM Manager works well with TWRP, and I don't use it myself. Get Mobile Odin and flash with it, that's the easiest way.

Get into download mode and reflash stock rom first. Or one of the prerooted stock roms. Then install Mobile Odin, and use that to flash the Odin version of TWRP or CWM.

LOL

anyways, from an article i read of a distant part of the internet, its not healthy to constantly running down the battery to 0% then do a full charge (or rather, keep it above 50%).

i believe everything on the internet so you must too  tongue.gif
*
You must also believe all the stuff that every politician posts on their FB and Twitter accounts!!!!! It is all for the good of the rakyat!!!!!

Some articles have described the care and feeding of lithium batteries so they remain strong and healthy with no ion loss. It is also a technical limitation of such batteries that they cannot drop beliw a certain voltage thru over discharge. So yeah top yr batteries off when they hit 10% I guess is good practice unless you want to show how long you can last tongue.gif

Note3 with 3gb ram..seriously..not sure that I need it. But I want it. tongue.gif
2012 - 2gb
2013 - 3gb
2014 - 4gb I supposed??
Each year we will be getting bigger ram. Man...cant catch up with the technology nowadays..
*
It's not exactly like that. 2012 2Gb is due to the process miniaturization they could cram with 2Gb on the SoC. This year they can actually cram 4Gb due to further miniaturization, but all the ARM SoCs are still 32 bit. If it's not SoC we could have RAM slots like notebooks.

32bit CPUs can only effectively address 4Gb but there is some reserved memory that cannot be used, so I suspect that is why they will cap it at 3Gb. Technically though, I remember seeing the spec sheet for A15 saying they can address 1TB of RAM, however nobody is going to do it due to economics.

4Gb and above will come when we get 64bit CPUs.

IMPORTANT NEWS:

Android flaw allows hackers to surreptitiously modify apps
Vulnerability could allow attackers to gain full control of handsets.
http://arstechnica.com/security/2013/07/an...ly-modify-apps/

Researchers said they've uncovered a security vulnerability that could allow attackers to take full control of smartphones running Google's Android mobile operating system.

The weakness involves the way legitimate Android applications are cryptographically signed to ensure they haven't been modified by parties other than the trusted developer, according to a blog post published Wednesday by researchers from mobile security startup Bluebox. The flaw has existed since at least the release of Android 1.6 almost four years ago. Hackers who exploit the vulnerability can modify app code to include backdoors, keyloggers, or other malicious functionality without changing the verification signature.

Malicious apps that exploit the vulnerability would enjoy the same system privileges as the legitimate one. That access could be especially dangerous if the app that's modified originated with the handset manufacturer or third parties that partner with the manufacturer, Wednesday's blog post said. That's because such apps are typically granted elevated privileges within the Android OS.
.....

=====================

Do not install cracked or pirated apps. You do not know how the cracked APK has been modified. Do not install apps that need more permissions than necessary.
