y510p is not about full gaming , its cheap and affordable

Is just a entry level of gaming on a mobile and seriously lousy cooling

If you want full gaming , you are going to pay more than 4000 ....

GTX 780M , 8500$ or MSI GT70 or ASUS G750JH etc or buy FROM ILLEGEAR

Having Nvidia Optimus is seriously a big thing for gamers on the go if you dont like battery , why the heck you want to buy a notebook ? just build a mITX gaming Desktop then

Plus haswell processor not only save battery life also save power means lower temperature

1. Actually, certain models allow users to set power profile. User can select "Max Performance" (for example, and can further customise) even when on battery only. The laptop will not lag (CPU & GPU still run on max) even laptop is on battery, just that it will drain battery very very fast

2. He is talking about portability as well. Gamers may have other part of their life to think about, you know So when someone are surfing the net or doing some light work, having Optimus is definitely a major plus.
Haswell also has much better IGPU, so a lot of tasks could be run with the IGPU only.
If some gamers seriously get hands itchy when only battery power is available, they could force the game to launch with IGPU only (in the Optimus ap), turn down the details, and can still get some fun

I was thinking of passive cooling (no fans) which is basically lifting the back edge of the laptop so there is better airflow & cooling.

Anyone using one of these & would it be a good buy?

i just bought the Y410p. i want to buy the local set and i want to get it fast so i went to low yat plaza 2nd floor to ask around. i have check the price for local set in lowyat forum, mostly ppl selling 2750, 2730, 2720.

i went to this shop and ask the salesman, he quote me 2680 (more or less the same with ppl selling in lowyat forum). the guy told me is local set and subjected to 2 years Lenovo warranty. i double confirm with him & he said yes. so i bought the laptop from him. he did provide me the invoice with his company header, wrote "2 years warranty".

when i went back home, i checked the box and it shows: Country: US. i key in the S/N to check the warranty and it shows: Location: USA, 1 year warranty.

I called the salesman and he said his distributor told him is local set and he said he will get back to me tomorrow. haiz.

Just got a msg from Hikari85. The Lenovo Y510P should be available at the end of August. Hmm. Wonder got merdeka sale or not.
I'm considering getting either a Y500 or a Y510P from her. Anyone have any experience buying stuff from her or not?

Btw, for those who still uses the default windows 8 that came with their laptop, just wanna ask a question.. the Music app says it needs an update.. when i click the "Get the update", windows store automatically opens, then click install, then all the apps that has updates are pending.. but then the update never took place.. how do i fix this? I like using the music app

anyone here played crysis 3 on yours with SLI ? i set the game at very high setting but it seem quiet blurrr .. i dunno wether i'm wrong or not as this is my first time playing crysis 3 .. anyone can help ? 

Currently I'm Play Splinter Cell Blacklist, Tomb Raider and Dota 2
With the single GPU it can handle the game with Ultra Setting and FPS around 29 - 31
Im using Nvidia GeForce Experience to Optimize the game..

I'm really sure with SLI it can boost more lorr..correct me if im wrong

need some advice here. can i claim warranty if my keyboard starting to have some problem? like the surface got some small bubble.
