If you ever look behind the curtain at KLIA, how workers handle the luggage at conveyor belt there ... they throw luggage like how Alam Flora throw rubbish into the rubbish lorry.
Or KLIA cargo area, loading into pallets/ULD. Same story with cargo handles.

At other airports, some luggage goes up the conveyor belt into the plane belly, but before reach, it slides off the sides and fall 3-5m to the hard tarmac. Therefore, don't be surprise to see your expensive hard-case luggage dented/hole/broken.

FedEx Asia hub is at Clark, Philippines.
DHL is at China (forgot where, Shanghai/Guanghzou)

Normally, parcels/letters, they will put into sacks/ULD.

Yes, definitely. Luggage bags, if you see how they fetch it from conveyor belt to plane , and vice-versa, they can stack 7-8 luggages in height. Hard-case also, you need to fill full/stuff. I use t-shirts, socks, underwear to pad the sides and corners of the boxes.

My dad retired from baggage service department and my brother used to work in Eva Air and Klas before. Yeap, they can testify how bad it was the ground crew handling our luggage. that is why have to buy those durable + hardening luggage when you fly

checked in luggages will be thrown/stacked/dragged and god knows what happened behind there. so yea better get more protection or since goin to be damaged might as well debox it so u can fit in a few more purchases
