Alberto:
- Barca's refusal to pickup option on him implies that he is no better than their current crop.
- If you were to look at Spain's national squad, almost all of the bigger names have gotten numerous caps in u-21.
- Alberto has only made 1 u-21 appearance so it basically means he is not as good as many other youngsters in the country and is likely to not be an important player for the national team in the future.
- Not saying he is bad or he will not turn out good, just saying the asking price is a tad too much for an unproven kid who's only real experience is Segunda Division.
- Let's not compare him with Coutinho, Coutinho has played quite a number of first team football in Brazil, Italy and Spain. He is also very highly rated amongst Brazilian youngsters racking up numerous caps and winning an u-17 competition for Brazil in the process.
- Alberto much more unproven than Coutinho.

- Hope we can conclude the deal soon, this guy looks the real deal.

The fact that we are said to be considering the possibilities of removing Downing, Shelvey, Coates, Skrtel and Reina from the existing squad means there seems to be a big overhaul of squad.
