LIVERPOOL could draw the biggest crowd ever for a Victorian soccer match when the famous Reds play Melbourne Victory at the MCG on Wednesday
Only bad weather and a poor showing from MCC Members will prevent a crowd of 95,000.
All public seats have been sold while a limited number of standing room tickets are expected to be snapped up before the night's 8pm kickoff.
The 2000 Olympic Games final between Cameroon and Spain in Sydney is the only 100,000-plus game ever played in the country.
The 1956 Olympic final between the USSR and Yugoslavia attracted 104,000 to the MCG, but the game was followed immediately by the closing ceremony.
"We're expecting a crowd between 90,000 and 95,000,'' an MCG spokesperson said.

"The weather forecast isn't great, so if people just decide not to use their tickets on the day then that could lower that a little bit.
"MCC members can get in but they've had to pay an extra $45 on top of their membership to get the entrance ticket in."
