Use the Fergie stance on Wayne Rooney.

Rooney submitted it and Fergie rejected it. There's nothing Suarez can do. 4 years left in his contract.

Liverpool hold all the aces here. If the release clause is true, which is 40mil, then we got no choice if some clubs trigger it.
*
Thats rite, if LFC wanna get tough, they can banish him to Reserves or U18. See who hold the aces. Somore next yr World Cup year, as selfish as Suarez is, would he jeopardized his chances to be in WC?? Provided Uruguay qualifies which by no means certain.
Problem is would Henry & co allow the biggest playing asset in LFC to diminish in value??? Highly unlikely, money talks.

Do we get any pie out of it?quite common clause when the fee are low.
*
nope, we use him for part exchange with Insua, IIRC. Boca sold him on to Roma after 3 yrs. So if any cut we get, it'll be from Boca sale to Roma which the fee is negligible

Not just them. Main culprit was Graeme Sounness. As manager, he has destroyed Liverpool and Newcastle. biggrin.gif

On rare occasion, I'm with you on this. Nobody screwed Liv more than this guy... vmad.gif

Serve them right for stealing our Micki  thumbup.gif

While we have worldclass medical and fitness team that could have attended to him, Micki now shall suffer in dortmund with the unknown physio and will eventually be an injury prone Mickey Mouse in Germany. LOL biggrin.gif

Phewww......25mil well saved!  thumbup.gif

Just curious on how a release clause works. If you're a good player naturally I'm gonna want to keep you so shouldn't I bump up the release clause to something like 100m pounds to be safe? Or is there a limit on release clause value for fringe players/first teamers etc?
*
You cant put in 200mil release clause without said player agreed. If a player is good, naturally club put in more but the player may want a escape clause in case Rm/Barca came calling, hence Suarez speculated 40mil which is affordable in current market.

Messi don't mind 200 mil release clause since he doesn't want to move anyway with a fat contract. You can see Thiago release clause plummet to 18mil from 120mil due to the player insert a special clause which he must played a certain minutes which he didn't, hence the reduce in clause which is meant as a way to move since he's not getting minutes he wants & Barca wont sell.

Unlike Primera Liga whereby the clubs are required to set a release clause in a player's contract, Premier League doesnt have such rule.

So for Pistol Suarez to request that in his contract tells us very clearly that he doesnt wanna be held to ransom and he would like to leave us one day. sad.gif

in short, unless the player in La Liga, putting in a minimum release clause meant the player looking to jump ship if his condition not satisfied = no loyalty tongue.gif

£18million for player with 1 year contract left is quite a big sum. Doesn't seems like the current LFC style.

Though, I'm really eager to see us seal this deal, bring him in and start training.

Eriksen went on records saying he won't leave ajax on Bosman, want them to have a fee on him, so doesn't matter Eriksen goes this season or next, he'll command decent fees. Also he mentioned he'll ink new deal if cant secure a move this summer, most prob a deal with buyout clause.

tevez wants out for the longest time at MC. Ferbegas wanted out of arsenal. both didn't get their wish immediately. true they got their 'out card" later but not before throwing in the season to remember. They are professionals. act like one.

How we use that to our advantage depends on our dear manager now.
I certainly don't like the way it conducted, unless we get serious record that may top the sale of torres. Saurez can throw tantrums but BR needs to yield the rogan. treat him with kid gloves, may work with Dalglish.

He (suarez) doesn't seem to show much respect for Rodgers. i dont quite blame him until rodgers shows brass balls.
*
We shud play hardball with Suarez ala Villa-Benteke case. Coming season is WC year, no sane players will jeopardise their year provided Uruguay qualifies. WC year will make or break a player value, have a great WC, his value soars further, if not, after a decent season, he'll still command a decent fee.
I'd say sells him after current season will be good biz for us, if he went on strike, send him to train with youngsters whistling.gif

True. BR need to send Alex Gerrard now.

It's time to call for desperate measure.

Send Alex Gerrard to pester Sofia Balbi. The women are known to be able to make a difference in their men's lives. biggrin.gif
